♥ Viral Nano Tape Bubbles ♥ • How to make nano tape ...
Enthält Werbung durch Markennennung / Contains advertisement due to visible brand logos
This video is all about those colourful sticky tape balls that you've probably seen in various viral videos. These are NOT related to nano tape bubbles despite the techniques being quite similar at times. I've seen people wrap small items in transparent nano tape to create balls but these are effectively two different types of crafting that require two different types of tape. This type of tape ball is great if you like fidgeting with your fingers. You can build up huge shapes and then cut them open if you like. The only downside is that the material can be fairly hard to find. I stumbled across these tapes on Amazon Japan (and there's a ton on there) but I couldn't find it listed anywhere else. Some of the products also had bad reviews so it seems like some batches of tape are faulty.

Note: I cannot guarantee the quality of the tapes as I ended up with a batch that didn't work. You want to search for "sticky ball tape" or "tape ball tape".

Thank you for addressing glitter in the water system. Microplastics are an enormous problem, and glitter is a big contributor. I would love to see more bio degradable options in your videos.

Sadly the biggest issue isnt people who dont know, its people who know and don't care. Her mentioning it hopefully helps educate children, but I know my fare share of people who pour things down the drain that they shouldnt be pouring because they can't be bothered to do otherwise. Its really frustrating
@SS_DT

@@aiaikawa4012 That may be true, but I think repetition matters. Some people need to be reminded to reset bad habits. It's never a bad thing for a creator to explain how to keep glitter from going into the water.

The biggest issue are companies that sell it knowing it's bad for the environment, like companies that sell soap/bathbomb kits that have plastic glitter, because it's cheaper to package it with that instead of biodegradable glitter.

@@inshamulla6036 I doubt recycling glitter or making it using recycled materials will be very effective, microplastics are hard to collect and you still get plastics in the enviroment after spending time recyling the glitter. Biodegradable gitter just dissolves and no one needs to worry about it.

What I'm concerned with is the wastefulness. All this use of plastic, and it's only used for a quick "satisfying" fidget toy, and then is soon thrown away after you cut the ball?

I mean, I personally don't think that this particular trend is one to get up in arms about. Every single toy made for children is made of plastic. Walk up and down a toy aisle and you'll see 6-7 aisles of pure plastic. Tossing a tiny dot of nanoplastic for a viral trend isn't making as much of a difference in the world as the amount of real tape wasted during Christmas, for example. If you're determined to make a difference in the world via tape sales, I'd start with targeting Christmas Tape sales first, and working your way up to plastic barbies, before targeting Nanotape.

I agree with you 1000%! I feel these are very pointless DIYs that doesn’t actually achieve anything helpful for anything at all. (DIYs are meant to be hacks to assist with daily tasks..) I don’t see any usefulness in these. Also, not environmentally friendly at all!! 😢
@LunatheMoonDragon
@LunatheMoonDragon Жыл бұрын
@@samanthachui2532 No art "achieves" anything at all. You're essentially arguing that anything entertaining that does not stay around forever is worthless, with this logic. By the way, you may be confusing DIYs with "life hacks," which this does not claim to be. Life hacks are meant to assist with daily life. DIYs are simply cool things where you can "Do It Yourself" at home.
@Strawation

@@LunatheMoonDragon While pretty, I personally find this trend distasteful in terms of waste. Everything you named in the comment is meant to function for hours. Tape keeps presents wrapped for hours, days, years; plastic toys and dolls are designed to last at least 1 day of entertainment (staring at the weird potion toys that are kinda wasteful but can be repurposed); nanotape lasts for a few hours. This particular tape is so short lived. Probably a few minutes to an hour at most. It can't be repurposed like nanotape, and it doesn't do anything else. Still, it's pretty and the trend likely won't last long since it's too fiddly for anyone but teenagers/adults.

Usually I love watching your videos, but this one was rough to get through due to your lack of research and attempt to expose a deception? Look, I went to the Amazon jp link you listed and watched the videos associated with the products. The one for the narrow tapes show the bead being covered in double sided tape, the colored tape being pulled then held taut against the roll to expose the adhesive, and finally using the sticky tapped bead to pull the adhesive off the roll. Very simple instructions, even with a language barrier. So your failure with the first tape ball could be due to either poor product quality or failure to execute due to not following the tutorial supplied. A complaint about lack of double sided tape being included in the kit would be valid though. A quick Google search of tape ball led to learning that it is made with decompression tape and that these balls can also be called diang balls. Then more follow up research can be done using that term. Lost opportunity to have come off so much more knowledgeable of the topic on hand. Now about your criticism of the viral video 'trickery'. I'm pretty sure those videos exist as oddly satisfying as the whole point is just to watch the adhesive stretch and gather into a ball. People don't stick around because they are confused, they stick around because it's a good watch or ASMR. A factor to great videos is editing. So what if some of them don't show the pulling of the tape and then flipping it back or the trimming of the excess plastic. The preproduction isn't the focus. Unless the video is claiming to be a tutorial, I don't see a problem.

Why the hell is there so many people complaining about the environment ? The amount of plastic wasted on this video is not even near the amount of plastic the same people who writen these comments waste per day, it's funny because comments are processed by a supercomputer, wich takes a considerable amount of energy to work, wich means more gas in the atmosphere, and the amount of fuel it takes to make a single comment is basically equivalent to the amount of plastic she wasted in the first place.

@floraleia
@floraleia Жыл бұрын
Honestly, if you're interested in doing environmentally friendly & purposeful things, it's possible to argue that no DIY would ever qualify. Every DIY project, everything you buy, everything you do is going to have its environmental issues :/ For example, Joanna's sock plush tutorials would be great for re-using old socks but plushes have no purpose beyond enjoyment and comfort and you may need to purchase additional supplies to complete the tutorial (which creates waste and uses energy and resources to create)

Unfortunately plastic waste is an unavoidable byproduct of of the whole DIY/crafts/toy industry. I personally feel that the process of making a DIY and the benefits gained from it (relaxation, creativity, learning) justifies the materials used so nothing is truly "wasted" in that respect.
