This is the tutorial I've been looking for for ages. Every other video that covers this skips over the specific process and just assumed u know how to do it. I've been producing pop artists so this is amazing. Thanks so much for sharing.

Can you also do a video on creating huge harmonies and stacks with a single vocal track. I assume it's just the same technique but instead of changing the pitch slightly you switch the notes to create the harmonies but mine always sound unnatural

I don't remember how exactly I stumbled upon your channel, but I'm as glad as ever that I did so. Gone through and have watched every single one of your vids, downloaded every song of yours available of apple music (because they're all bangers), and thoroughly enjoy the way you teach all these topics as I'm very new to EDM music production. Great stuff bro, Big Z for the W.

this is a great idea! However, after adding the left/right vocal support my whole vocal sounds so metallic. I am trying to figure out whether this could be a phasing issue, but I really struggle to find out where is it coming from. cheers
@sam-eh3fx4 жыл бұрын
I'm having the same issue! :/
@JADURCA2 жыл бұрын
Try to use a Low Pass Filter around 18Khz in both created vocals, so the metallic sound is almost gone, like a DE-ESSER. Another one is to identify and delete the S sounding words with Melodyne. Try the one that sounds best for you.

"if i were to just duplicate the same track on left and right i would get major phasing issues" no you wouldn't. if you copy the track they are already in perfect phase with each other. it would in fact do nothing but make it louder.
@Royalli2313 жыл бұрын
then why is there an invert phase option and why is there this “myth” about phase problems at all? I would love to include a channel author whom I really appreciate?
@homewardboundphotos3 жыл бұрын
@@Royalli231 the phase flip is there for when there are 2 different microphones recording the same source. There is no "myth" about phase problems. It is a real issue, it just doesn't come from copy and pasting the exact same audio clip. it comes from having multiple sound sources of the same instrument, ie mics on a drum kit
@Royalli2313 жыл бұрын
@@homewardboundphotos then why do some people / audio engineers re-record duplexes and avoid duplicate methods?
@homewardboundphotos3 жыл бұрын
@@Royalli231 your comment doesn't make any sense. "re-record duplexes" isn't any kind of term that is used in music production.
@homewardboundphotos3 жыл бұрын
@@Royalli231 you're probably going to have to describe what you're talking about, because the words you are using don't mean what you think they mean.

I wouldn't call this the quickest way to get vocal doubles, since there are plenty of free /cheap plugins that can do a decent enough job at it... But I still got plenty of value from your vid; I've had Melodyne for a while but haven't used it yet, and this gave me a quick and convenient how-to for some of its more usable features that probably would have taken forever to get to if I had tried watching any official tutorials for it.
