How to make vr headset Easy | DIY VR cardboard | Google cardboard | Homemade | Virtual Reality DIY.

Material : Cardboard , scissor , gum , scale , 1 pair of biconvex lens

This is an easy to make VR headset. You can use any easily available convex lens. If the focal length is low, like 35mm to 50mm then performance is good. However those are not easily available. So use lens from small magnifying glass or toy binocular. Those are having focal length of 100mm to 120mm. So the thickness of the VR headset will be approx. 0.9 x f = 90mm.
Make you own, and have the experience of 3D video at your fingertip. You will be very much exited with 360 degree videos available in KZbin.
Virtual reality is back baby and, with some incredible VR headsets in development, the best is yet to come. Virtual reality is an immersive experience in which your head movements are tracked in a three dimensional world, making it suited to games and even movies.
:::::: Step 1 ::::::: Parts::::::
Parts needed:
1. First you need a set of 25mm diameter, 40mm focal length lens. I buy these lens because of the fast shipping, cardboard lens.
2. Card board. I use a gifting box that you can buy in most stores like Walmart or Fred Myer. They are also available online.
3. Velcro strips.
4. One head strap. This provides a more realistic, hands free experience but is also optional. Having no head strap and holding Cardboard to your face works just as well (You just don't look as cool). I bought mine here, cardboard head strap.

1. Sharpie
2. Exato/Box knife
3. Tape. scotch tape and packing tape.
4. Scissors
5. Glue stick
6. Packing tape

I remember finding this video back when I was in middle school and vr was hardly available to the general public, I had stayed up all night making one of these and I didn’t even have the lenses, I used lenses from some reading glasses hanging around and it was absolutely horrible. Tip, if you don’t have lenses at home (pretty sure most people don’t), then just cut out four circles from a clear plastic bottle glue 2 of them together using a hot glue gun then get a syringe and fill the inside with water. This may be confusing cuz I’m bad at explaining.

Best lenses for this are 5x to 6x 40mm magnifiers, I actually found some in my area for less than 1dollar. Info says cardboard lens is 4.5mm focal length, 5x magnifier is 50mm and 6x is 42mm. Diy is great for learning

But then my elder sister wanted a VR for her birthday but i did not have that much money. then i saw this tutorial ! this is such a good tutorial that when i made this and gave it to my sister she actually thought this is the google cardboard XD but what i did is i added an extra band from the top and i also printed out a few paper of the star wars edition of the google cardboard and attached it to my sister's one and it looks really cool ! thanks for this tutorial ! i subbed !

For the people who have biconvex lenses lying around but are too lazy to get them just like me I found out that you can make your own lenses from a water or plastic bottle with a good curvature . Just cut out a 25mm diameter circle with scissors (cut out 4 of these)

that tape trick for folding edges is cool and all but heres a neat thing for folding edges with cardboard: take a pair of scissors and a ruler. using one of the blades of the scissors, use it like a knife and create a straight line through the cardboard using the ruler. dont press too hard to cut the cardboard through but hard enough to cut halfway through the cardboard. this should let you bend the cardboard with more ease and prevent tacky edging. so that being said, you got a *net for that cardboard design? *a net is a box design laid out flat

You dont need Biconvex lenses, you can just make a circle out of plastic, make walls out of plastic around it, and put water in it, then cover it with more plastic, then seal it with some hot glue.
