Great video, thank you! I've been drinking water kefir for a couple of months now and love it! My favorite flavor combinations are apple juice+ginger, blueberry+rosemary, ginger+lemon, orange+cinnamon+ginger (for cold days) and also raspberry+basil :). Sometimes I use hibiscus tea for the first fermentation process, but it'll stain the kefir grains a little.

Wonderful video Teenuja. I used to make Water Kefir a lot a few years ago but it was exhausting after a while to keep making it since my kefir grains kept multiplying like crazy, I think at one stage I had 5 bags of kefir grains in the freezer lol. I did love the taste so I would love to try making it again. It was a lot easier to make than Kombucha for me. Thank you for the fruit flavor combinations.

You can also eat the grains. Add to yogurt or smoothies. Great for the gut biome. For the second fermentation you can add DIY fruit syrups. Pineapple and lemon with a touch of cinnamon’s combo is super yummy. You can make syrups out of any other fruits that you like and add it to your water kefir for the second fermentation. Happy drinking 😁

Hey friends, it's been a while and we're pretty excited to share a video. We hope you'll enjoy this one and will try making water kefir at home. Please do check out the blog post here - veganlovlie.com/water-kefir-soda as we've included some additional info like troubleshooting (kefir grains not growing or going mushy), what to do with extra grains etc... We drink water kefir on a daily basis and it's much much healthier than store-bought sodas, incomparable even! If you've ever made kombucha at home, then you'll find water kefir so much simpler to make. Once you get the hang of it, the simple process becomes a breeze and soon you'll have an endless supply of healthy tasty probiotic drink to enjoy everyday while maintaining a healthy gut.

awesome video, the best one ever , question to ask: 1) when I am making water kefir, it taste kinda of beer flavor instead of carbonated soda flavor? I dont know what I did wrong, every time I make water kefir leaving for 24 hours after my first fermentation, it tastes slightly kinda beer flavor even after flavoring during my second fermentation for 12-24 hours, it still tastes kinda beer. thanks

I am on my 5th batch of water Kefir, it is now my favorite drink. The last one tasted like slow gin fizz even though no alcohol, and I used black cherry juice, ginger, a piece of lemon and a pinch of baking soda in the 2nd ferment, and used later stevia to sweeten. This current one I made is grapefruit-ginger-lime-cranberry soda water Kefir. The first ferment--I always use also a lot of organic garlic, organic onion, and organic ginger along with organic cane sugar, and organic coconut sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of non-aluminum baking soda or pink salt, and I wait until it smells like vinegar, the smell of garlic and onion is not there anymore after 48 hours. I can just tell by the vinegar smell that the first ferment is done. I started with two tablespoons of organic water Kefir grains, and now I have a quart of water Kefir grains, they grew a lot.

Hello. I noticed you put the ginger in the water after the 1st fermentation. Is there a benefit to doing it that way instead of at the beginning?
@irunamuk5 жыл бұрын
Funky Bee The grains apparently prefer simple sugar water and are less happy with some of the flavorings in their fermentation water. For example if you added juice to the first batch it may make the environment too acidic to keep happy grains although I’ve heard a bit of lemon juice on occasion is good for them.
