You could probably make glue wefts like they do in doll customizing instead of using hot glue. I'm unsure which is more durable tho.

I saw a video by Alyson Tabitha where she used got glue to style a wig. I was thinking it'd never work but it did and it looked amazing like this one! I'm sure people scoffed at the first person to use garage mats for armor and look how that turned out. 😁

Love this video!! I hate when people try to discredit the work someone's done all because they didn't do it the "right" way. If it works, looks nice, and completes the character, it's the right way!!

If anyone doesn't want to use a heat gun for styling, handheld steamers are also really lovely for the purpose

not gonna lie. watching you cut the length of hair on a table instead of having it hanging on a stand made me so nervous 😂 lol

Great work on the wig! Can you do a video on how to do the freckles, and teeth Nico has?
@GraceWillow5 жыл бұрын
AlphaProto sure I can do a new freckle tutorial! I have an aloy makeup and wig tutorial on my channel on how I did those freckles too. As far as the teeth go I usually don’t do anything for my teeth unless the character has fangs.

Hahaha when you started cutting the hair at the start I was thinking "lol ASMR" and then you put haircut ASMR? on the video and I cracked up XD

This is very helpful and a nifty, hacky way to make wefts! I'm a beginner and don't have many tools, so this is a great reference

It's cheap, it's fast, it's durable. I buy the method right away!

Thanks for this tutorial. I need to make a yarn wig quickly for Halloween, and this is perfect. I suggest using a rotary cutter to trim up your wefts after the gel step. It won't push the strands around like scissors do.

I love how your wefts turned out! I tried making wefts this way before but I ended up with more hair stuck to me than to the wig, haha! when I need braided wefts for a wig, I like to make a 'hair switch' - there's a blog on blogspot called 'Sewing To Distraction' that has a good tutorial on how to make one, and they're removeable too!

Yay. Trying to update my bobble head since it looks nothing like me rn so before I cut my long green hair, I’m trying to figure out how to make doll hair wefts using real hair, and with glue because I’m not gonna spend eternity sewing my leftover hair for a green ponytail that’s going on a bobble head.

Could i use diy wefts with hotglue in my actual hair? Like make my own wefts this way and use them as extensions?? This is amazing!
@GraceWillow2 жыл бұрын
I have never tried that! as long as you're not hot gluing them to your hair and you're just clipping them in--might be worth a try! The only thing I would worry about is wearing them in hot weather or in the sun--as hot glue can re-activate and melt.

yep! if you're making wefts with hot glue, you just need to be careful when it comes to applying heat to your wig, cause it can melt the glue
