I really appreciate that you integrated the miniature into this guide. I've watched quite a few guides for forest bases and literally all of the others just went into making the bases pretty and never bothered to show how you would add the miniature after the fact.

As a Tea connoisseur how did I not think of using tea leaves. 😱🤯. So much more affordable than what the model shop carries. 🥳👏🏻

I'll be trying out some jungle bases with more tea when I start my Catachan army next month.

Amazing idea to use tea! I just started a sylvaneth army and will definitely be using this exact technique. Thank you. Subbed :D

Thanks so much! Really happy how the tea worked out and the herbal teas definitely had the best mix of textures. Sylvaneth are awesome! Thanks again for watching and subbing 🤩

What a clever thematic use of tea! Will have to give it go next time when making scenic woodland bases!

Thanks, Wulf! I saw some people doing similar with mixed herbs too so for a spring or summer theme, that might work great.

@@tabletopskirmishgames I'm curious though, since it's organic, won't it eventually decompose even being sealed? I remember watching somewhere that certain lifespans for effects such as the snow from a bicarbonate mix.

@@azeenon The bicarbonate is relatively reactive and would have undergone chemical decomposition due to reactions with air and other chemicals in adhesives and paint. I'd have thought the relatively chemically inert dry Tea leaves once sealed in the dried glue would be project from mositure and oxygen, so will be stable for some time. So, a decade of base life may be in the cards.

I don’t know tbh, but I think it will last a while. I watched a great video about using coffee grounds as a base mixed with paint and PVA and the idea was as long as it was dried out before added paint and glue, it should last a while. It’s rough to touch, almost like sandpaper, but I’ll add a coat of Technical Stormshield at some point to; guess we wait and see how long it lasts. 👊

@@tabletopskirmishgames Oh that's another brilliant idea with the coffee grinds , and "pro-tip" on the drying to avoid problems later as I would've forgotten to desiccate the grinds.

Yeh, Im pretty sure these are the most expensive warband so far for Warcry. I’d like to add some Dryads but the miniature I think will make this an awesome looking group is Druanti the Arch Revenant. It looks so good.

so my question is how do these bases look now? did the tea wither away or does it still look good?

Awesome, I will be doing my bases this way too! Do you think used tea leaves would work? (I mean, drinking tea, put the leaves to dry in the oven/naturally and then use them for basing) Cheers

I saw a video where they used dried out coffee grinds. Used tea leaves dried out should work too I think.

What tips do you have for drying twigs in the oven? All the guides online assume firewood or other larger pieces, and I'm not sure how much difference that will make.
@tabletopskirmishgames
@tabletopskirmishgames 2 жыл бұрын
I put them in on a low heat - the lowest a normal oven will go - and then leave them in there for a few hours until they are brittle. I've read some people wash them in watered down bleach first, then dry off and put in the oven, but I just put in oven as is.
