How to make working elevators/moving platforms in Source 2!

This tutorial will go over how to create moving platforms/elevators in the hammer editor for Half Life:Alyx. In this tutorial I specifically go over how to make a elevator. Please leave a comment if you want to see me go over anything else in Source 2.

Just like any other tools func_movelinear is not in S&box is it because i don't have Half Life Alyx files?

nope its just because it hassent been ported or fixed correctly to s&box yet.

@@yourfurnace7576 welp its comforting to hear I'm not the only one who tried. S&box discord says it was merged with ent_platform and that works for my needs. Hope this helps!

Heyo! Thank you! I wanted a proper way to make an actually working elevator. But I can't seem to figure out if there is a way to make the button not look like a simple block and to transform a prop for example a button prop into the elevator prop, see what I mean?

How can I make a moving platform in which the player can ride on in vr? I've failed every which way in trying to make that happen in this version of hammer, but the player falls off every time when I switch to vr. I tried with prop_dynamic, triggers buttons, changing preferences in alyx. Every time, train moves, I fall. Great vid btw.

@@andreademontis646 haha well i never figured it out but it works great on the old hammer. One guy told me to make the whole level move around it lol which i tried but it was too confusing and limiting. Let me know if you ever figure it out.
