Tacking down the corners - this makes so much sense! Even a nicely snug lining can get pulled up when you are rooting around in the bottom of a bag - and who doesn't do this? Brilliant, thank so much for a great tutorial!

I don't understand why more/most major pattern designers don't mention this in their patterns? I've been doing it for quite a few years but never see it suggested in the pattern. I'm sure beginner sewists would be a lot happier with their finished bag if they knew this!

OmG I had had such trouble with the exterior having pinches because of the lining (which ruined my totes) and had searched for fixes for this problem to no avail. I finally figured out on my own to adjust the seam allowance 1/8th" smaller for the lining than the exterior. Afterall, how can two of the same size of anything fit one inside the other?? Your advice will save many sewists tons of frustration. Thank you!!!

Hi from Michigan! 💁🏻New viewer here since Sew Yeah was at your shop and I placed a big order, lol! Lots of projects to do now. 😉 I was impressed with the seam ripping as well. How did you do that? Did you just rip the end couple of stitches and then just pull it apart? I always pick the stitches all the way down. I didn’t realize you could just yank the pieces apart. What size stitch length do you use? Thanks for the great tutorial! I had never heard that before I started watching you, to not sew over your zipper tabs. I guess I always have in the past. Thanks for all of your great tips!!!

That little "tack" is a GREAT tip. I'm wondering...is there a fool proof method to adding organizing pockets in a large project bag that do NOT sag...yet still can fit a bulky item?

Adding stabilizer to the pocket will give it enough support and lessen the sag.

I appreciate your comments. How do you tack down the corners if your exterior is vinyl, cork or leather?
@SewHungryHippie8 ай бұрын
Tacking isn't really visible from the right side, because it's like a stitch or 2, very small...you don't have to go all the way through the cork or vinyl, just grab enough to hold and you're golden.
