I bought my chickens already grown so I didn't have to use fake eggs. I don't have an issue with them cracking their own eggs. I think this is due to me feeding them an egg or 2 a day, already cracked. One of the best sources of calcium is eggshell.

That is a great point, I wonder if some do that if they are deficient in calcium in their diet! A lady we knew had that problem of her eggs getting cracked often by her chickens. Do you bake the shells before feeding it back to them?

@@AcresOfAdventure nope I feed them raw. Any eggs I don't consume go to my pigs, dogs and birds. It's kinda weird to see them eat their own eggs lol but I guess we do gross stuff with chicken too like bath their flesh in their embryos cover them in breading and fry them. :)

Jack Russell catches plenty of mice, but pinned down a chicken once. She survived but lost all her tail feathers and was in shock for a little while…😬

Turkey, rabbit, mice, (I was shocked he was able to catch up to the turkey，I’m sure the turkey was shocked too), once attempted on a skunk but was sprayed by the skunk so badly that he was smelly for about 6 month. We are trying so hard to keep him away from the chickens,fingers crossed.
