Great video, April !😃 I am lapping up a lot of this type of content as I am going to be tentatively stepping into the world of content creation, once my budget set up all gets delivered in Jan! (I've managed to get a PC with 32GB Ram, because my current 4GB will not be sufficient for even basic editing software so I found out, a very cheap video camera, desktop mic and a tripod all for under £450 or roughly $700!). I wish you and everyone else on here on a similar path, all the continued growth and success for the future! 🙂👌

Editing: I do my rough cuts from back to front because my last take is almost always my best take. I can then quickly delete prior takes and move on to the next (previous) shot.

I find filming relatively easy - it’s the editing step where I tend to procrastinate and grumble the whole time, and inevitably rush it cuz I just want to be done with it. 😆 You do an inspiring job with yours.

Great video, as usual...but I do wish there was a section on "Where will I upload this to?" Should you start a new channel, or should you just use the same channel you watch KZbin with. If you are going to pick some sort of niche, how should the name of the channel reflect that? I think this is one of my personal biggest barriers, because I have like 5 different ideas for what the channel should be called...also, the last step, when you upload, it would be great to see how you actually do that part...

Thank you for your feedback! I’d say just use the same channel you watch KZbin with (the algorithms are completely different). And channel name is something you can always change later, but the easiest way to go is just using your name as the channel name! That way, if your niche changes over time, your channel name is consistent

I think if you have the will you have the means to get over the finish line…i think there is infinite videos on how to start creating your first video, but watching movies wont get you anywhere. The best way to do it, get your idea down, your script if it has any, some videos needs no script at all, and you can still use visuals and silent acting to get your point across…so instead of watching everyone teaching you how they did it or doing it, you got your own ideas anyways…id suggest stop watching and start creating…even if you dont know what a shot list is, get a close up, medium, 3/4, full shot, top angle if needs any, or wide angle, and shoot…i just got my FX3 sony because im planning on making short videos as well…so get in front of the camera and do it…thats it i gave u a run down in a few minutes of writing instead of hours of watching videos like this which is valuable…but dont spend months of watching..

Hey Alter, here's my opinion on this video. After watching the whole video, I genuinely feel that this was JUST an overview on making videos for KZbin. Though it was a mistake to put the Titles and Thumbnails at the foremost and NOT at the last. Overall, I genuinely didn't find Enough information to MAKE IT ON KZbin. But, I appreciate your efforts for the Editing part.

So many of the same principles apply! Even without your face or voice, think about why someone would watch. What type of value are they getting from the video? Based on that, what’s the promise, progress, and payoff you can set up? Those points won’t be expressed with your face or voice, but they should still be there in the edit

I’d say the biggest priority is just getting SOMETHING out. If the pressure or fear behind making a “big” video is holding you back from starting, I’d pick a smaller idea that feels easier to execute!

It’s definitely possible! But I usually recommend people don’t go into it with those types of expectations - it can make it feel like there’s too much pressure placed on their first video to succeed, which can make it feel even harder to start!
