@Si He I think it just depends on the subject. I, for example, like short videos when i want someone to show me how to do something on a program. "how to connect vertices on Blender" for example. Whenever i want to learn something new, however, i often like extra input on the subject to gain deeper understanding. a simple example would be when i was learning functions in programming and i got to the 'return' statement. I was told that 'return' is always used at the end of a function. thus i assumed its what i put at the end and only later did i realise by myself that 'return' is what ends the function, thus i could use it in an if statement and etc.

Alternatively, use a unique art style that, though it isn't conventionally attractive or doesn't require a lot of skill, gives the game a certain atmosphere and ends up being essential to the experience. A la Space Funeral and other off-beat low bit games.

It doesn't have to be low-bit. That flat-colour, wobbly outline Flash style can look good too.

@Miziziziz i could use some advise however. I'm making a 2d top-down space strategy game, you know planets and ships going between that kind of stuff. I find it hard to pick colors for this. For example, when i make a planet it will need green, blue, and white to represent skies, grass water etc. The same goes for a ship, the exhaust of the engine should be red etc. Also things like an error situation (Wrong move or something) is just always red. How can i pick these 'additional' colors and make them complement my color scheme? i read an article on tutsplus 'Picking a Color Palette for Your Game's Artwork' that said something about creating a color table out of a single color with complementary colors, but i could not find any tools or something to generate that for me.
