When we leave on a trip, we simply unplug the garage motor. I also got a sliding latch that keeps the garage door from going up.

great video! I just have a question though. I linked it to our Linkmaster 8550 and I am able to use it with the MyQ app but the problem is: The LED light on the Smart Garage Control does not flash nor does it beep. But the lights on the garage opener, itself, flashes on/off and it also beeps. Is that normal? I actually don't mind it since the beeping on the garage opener is loud enough and the flashing of its lights are also OK. But if you have an idea on why the Smart Garage Control is not flashing/beeping, please let me know. Thank you!

Quite a few. I'm sure there's a limit, but I have other people using the app in "guest" mode.

in san Francisco burglars open garage doors and steal bikes and other items and if your garage has a door onto your house they can walk into house put lock on side rails so it can't go up

Those with garages need to remove the rope or put a shield in front of the rope; works well, as using a coat hanger can pull that rope in less than 30 seconds.

@ because it wants to be the center of your home, I just want it to open my garage door. Any decent iOS app, would easily allow the open and close actions to be a widget, and expose Siri intents. To allow voice command. Nice if it was full HomeKit, but even just basic standard support would be fine. They removed all useful actions, they want to be an entire ecosystem themselves, which is fine to have as an option, but shouldn’t be forced on you and the basic functionality removed from the app. I payed quite a bit for the opener, and paid extra to get the wifi access stuff to be able to control it. They also don’t support CarPlay (which you know many times you want to open your door you are actually in your car) But the only thing I can do is manually open the app to press the open or close button. They then want an expensive recurring subscription just to support basic usage. It ridiculous. I then saw that they did have stuff for IFTTT which is a bit of extra overhead, but went ahead and set it up, because I could hack a bunch of stuff together to make it respond to voice actions , but then it turns out they only offer a close action, not an open action. Again they want a premium subscription just to open and close the damn door. Generic no name cheap cameras, outlets, you spend $20 on give more full featured apps than a device I paid over $400 for.
