How to Make Your Kids' Day Without Spending a Penny!

@@p8entlyobvious383 I think they call this a balance bike . It's a beginner's bike . The purpose is to teach balance before pedaling. That way when he gets a "regular" bike with pedals , he can just jump right on and ride it. 😊

So funny ! I was babysitting , noticed they had a lot of leaves in their yard . I looked around for a rake and did this exact same thing in their yard. I was later told the kids played with it for days and kept grabbing the rake to refix their roads. 😂 Creativity goes a long way in parenting and it teaches the kids to get creative ! You can always change the roads up when they get burnt out on this one . Good job mama !

I agree....so many parents don't take their kids outside a lot. When our kids were young (a little older than Spurge & Henry) we lived in a neighborhood that had lots of kids. One day, we decided to play cards out in the front yard (we had just planted grass seed in the backyard it was being watered for the first time) and we got our cheap TV trays out (we camped a lot when the kids were small and used those cheap TV Trays for lots of things while camping,etc) and decided to play the Fish Card game!!! Well, the next thing we noticed as we had 4 other kiddos watching us. Finally, my husband said to the other kids "Would you kids like to play cards too (we had 2-3 decks of the Fish Card game) and of course the kids became really excited and wanted to play cards too! Well, that started a "neighborhood" game time. The kids from the neighborhood would come to our house and we'd play games (card games, and other things) with all the neighborhood kids....they all had a blast. We always had kids in our house and yard.....our house was "the place" all our kids' friends wanted to come to. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that not only did the kids enjoy being around us, but we enjoyed it too.

The problem today is most ppl want popcorn entertainment for their children whatever can be done fast with little stress.. We forget children just love simple things..I say the point here is patience

I miss those days! My kids are in their mid 30s - I have the best picture of them in a huge pile of leaves when they were around 5 or 6 - all you could see was their faces! Lol good times!

I used to make 'leaf houses' where I had rows of leaves on the ground in a square for the outside wall and then additional rows for the inside walls to make very small rooms and I had each room named- SO FUN.

I just watched Henry's bike purchase! It's so cute! While I think all the Duggar kids have cute kids, Jessa, I'm partial to just how sweet and cute Henry, Spurgeon, and Ivy are. I love their curly hair. Spurgeon is one of the smartest little guys....and he is such an amazing big brother! Henry just makes me smile every time I watch one of your videos! 😆 So cute! Our grandsons (6 & 8 yrs old), were here this past weekend and they made trails all over our lawns. We live on a 200 acre farm and have two driveways that are both lined with mature maple trees. Needless to say, there were plenty of roads made and thankfully two tired boys at the end of the day! You definitely don’t need to spend money to have fun! I love the way you think Jessa! Stay well! 😘

We have a pretty large backyard (not as huge as yours!), but it's just all dirt and goatheads. 😳😳 My grandson still loves playing in the dirt and being outside, even though it's freezing today! It's 38 degrees outside right now, and it's only supposed to get up to 48 today. 🥶
