Finally. I've been waiting for PLA gloop to get back in stock but all of these third-party sellers keep buying it in bulk loads and doubling the price. I'm going to order that solvent now and make some of my own.

I have been using the Plastic-welder stuff for years... started using it as a kid when I built plastic models. Love the idea of melting filament into it. Down side to it is, its exspensive, 13 bucks for each color you want to be able to glue. Might be able to make smaller batches. Pro tip, use q-tips as applicators, brushes are expensive and not really able to be cleaned.

The reason for the little jars is that I can make about 5 different glues with one bottle. I agree it is expensive but at the same time distributed properly it can last a long time

I generally print in PETG and have used Plast-I-Weld solvent in the past. I got it at Hobby Lobby. It’s super viscous and hard to apply a small amount, so making it into a glue would allow me to smear it on. Thanks for the tip!

In model making we call it Sprue Goo (recent term, back when I got into it we didn't have a catchy name we just called it melted plastic) and it is used for filling gaps, strong bonds, and even used for molding and crafting new bits :) There is a guy in the Warhammer community makes whole models out of discarded sprue, really neat stuff

When filling a seam, put strips of masking tape on each side of the seam before adding your filler. That way you can scrape the excess away fast without sanding the surrounding surfaces.

Still would not recommend this. Heat and solvents is not good. And the water content in this case is so very minor the gains, if any would be fractions of a percent

This is probably where you could use a shredder on your rafts skirts brims failed prints and use them instead of new fillament! It's still technically plastic, so it works, heart me if you think it works ! What do you think ? This would probably work to smooth out those annoying layer lines for people who make models and stuff 😁

YES! all of this! 4 hours is the min dry time. I prefer overnight. So with layer lines and such this would need the 24 hour dry time to be sandable.

Drama Queen, yes, the smell is prominent. You DO NOT need a respirator for a few ounces of Methyl Ethyl Keton, Methylene Chloride You could allow the entire bottle to evaporate in a two bedroom home and my sniffer would even cause an alarm If you were to allow it to evaporate in a small bathroom, you might pass out if you didn't have a fan Anyone who took this personally. I just can't stand drama queens. Brother, one of my vids I neutralized sulfuric acid no hood, no respirator just gloves at the sink with a face shield that was dangerous, this is childsplay compared to sulfur gas I could see a 5 gallon or 55 gallon drum gassing off but a few ounces 😂🤣😂 Laugh my ass off! Note: This technique has been used since the 80s for industrial repair of plastic parts no longer in production. Example, machine cover, component box etc 90s kids used it building their models
