Subscribed! Loved the ideas! I spent 4 years stationed in Tokyo recently and learned a LOT about the art of Shou Sugi Ban'ing wood through the temples there. It isn't a very common practice but I've done it recently to a park bench I restored as well as other old west themed products. One thing I’ve found works is hire a blackbear in the woods to scratch n bite your cabin walls trying to get to the bacon in the fridge and there ya go.

Love this! I’d like to do this for picture frames for my art work! Would I build the frames first then stain or stain the wood, miter the corners,then assemble??

@@UpNorthHandyman thank you. I’ll do just that. The last couple of frames I’ve done I incorporated the burning technique and used my own vinegar/steel wool mixture. I did not use a wheel or wire brush , nor did I use colored/tinted stains. Thank you for the video and the reply.
