Never drill with gloves. Of any kind. Grind all day with leather gloves . Never with fabric though. But I've put a saw blade on a grinder once and did a widow maker stunt to quickly finish a job before, so I'm no authority, but I'm old and still have all my digits. My hands do look like I've been tortured for information though. Floaters in my eyes, tinnitus setting in...

He apparently went waaaayyyy to heavy on the "tack" welds. It's literally just suppose to be a quick tack to hold it in place. His welds were far to long. I seen it right off and knew it'd be warped. Patience is key, small welds that are spread out to allow the heat to dissipate so that the metal doesn't warp and just go around in a circle, slowly filling all the gaps in with one small welds at a time.
