Man!! I LOVE the GUIDE SLIDE you threw together!!
@kennethamend85572 жыл бұрын
I just purchased my first home...fir my pup and I. You are not kidding about the price of trim/baseboards being pretty high!! This by far has been the BEST video I've seen...that slide is simple...Yet brilliant!! Thank You SO much. I'm 5'6" not weak by any means, 🤓 though pushing that type of wood thru the table saw is something I haven't even thought of!?!? Thanks Again! God Bless!

Coming from someone that bought a house 2 years ago and thought it was a good idea to tear every room baseboard / door trim and trim and kitchen apart’ Let me give u advice! It’s not like on tv there’s 100 of them and 1 of u’ Do 1 room at a time’ I promise u u will thank me’ Also coming from me thinking it would be a good idea to “save money” I made all my door casing and base boards’ I bought many many sheets of 1/2”osb’ Listen to me! JUST BUY IT! making it is so much more than u ever think’ The saw dust alone and mess it makes from ripping 10 plus sheets is a mess! Took 3 hours to clean that up and it goes everywhere like dust! 2nd u have to sand the cut sides so there’s no lines’ Add 4 hours for that’ Priming! #1 mistake made with mdf YOU CAN NOT REPEAT CAN NOT use water based primer! It will make your boards swell like a sponge’ U have to use oil based primer! That will take 2-3 coats trust me it sucks up so much and took me about 4 gallons total’ for oil based Killz primer it was $50 a gallon! Add about 6 hours total for all coats also roller no matter how “smooth” it claims will leave orange peel texture spray gun is key if u do it! Water based is 20 a gal don’t fn do it! Has to be oil based! Now after u prime u have to sand again smooth then wipe off’ Now all in you’re looking at a good 20 hours and I only had to do 1500 sq foot’ Trust me bro’ trying to help! Yes primed trim is expensive and while it seems like u will save money I promise u won’t’ by the time u buy that primer u won’t save’ Cheapest oil primer is like $30 a gal and cheap primer/ cheap paint = shit results every time! Just buy it! U go from the store go home cut it and install and be done! Cut other costs like painting bedroom doors instead of replacing’ I give u my word u will thank me for said advice if u fail to listen to me and do it’ LoL hands down I would have bought it if I could do it again’ I’ve leaned from all my mistakes I’ve remodeled my entire house and it took 2 years and guess what I’m still not done! 🤣 1 room at a time my friend! Hoping my advice helps at least 1 person! Also think of the area u r in’ If average / med income area don’t put 100k in “upgrades” it will not increase your homes value’ U would be making it nicer than the other houses’ but at the end of the day “hypothetically” said person is still in a med income neighborhood and that’s where prices stay’ I learned that the hard way! Some things increase value yes but don’t “over update things” Take care bro hope that helps But trust me trust me trust me! Go buy that trim don’t do it!

I need that saw! Jig is prefect! Watched another guy use table saw method, yeah not gonna work like that for me. Feather boards all setup in a shop the size of my house, really nice but I’m no pro. Your method is great and I might be able to do it, just need a better saw. Question pls: So overall how did you account for the waste from blade cut? Always think I have this right until that last piece ends up 1/4 in short. Any tips tricks appreciated.

Spray or roll the 1st or 2 coats primer on the face before cutting when its easier.
@keshlalish55863 жыл бұрын
nicely done. i went to get some board last week and good god, 22$ for 8 feet -_- seeing you use circular saw and a router probably gave me the kick in the ass i needed to get a router, didn't think they were that usefull until i used one at work (almost on every craft requiring wood we use it)
@markc29402 жыл бұрын
How did you make the router do a 45 degree cut? Does the router allow you to go 45?
@Kaodusanya Жыл бұрын
Use a 45 degree router bit

can I use particle board Instead of mdf? for baseboard trim
@joshymcdaniel92332 жыл бұрын
Year late could u …. Anything’s possible however NO NO NO 😂 Particle board won’t paint and look okay also soaks up water Mdf also soaks up water that’s why u need to seal it with OIL based primer’ If I can share 1 thing with u or anyone reading…. When u see particle board at the store walk away! LoL that stuff isn’t even good for a shelf’ it’s garbage’

The cut edge will look horrible. And to fix it you'll have to put wood filler on the cut edge and sand it. Miser.....y.

Better build you some saw horses nxt!
@drmodestoesq11 ай бұрын
If your big box store has a panel cutter I would get them to cut the sheet in half or thirds to make the job easier. I wouldn't have them cut it up into strips....because they'll start charging you for each cut. Which kinda defeats the purpose. I.e. saving us money.
