And there are ways to protect yourself.... Do your research.. Make sure the dev team have doxed themselves... Make sure the liquidity is locked... If the devs own wallets.. Get transparency on that...... Go for a coin where there are no huge % wallets...etc....just be savvy. You should be fine...... A good use case helps

"why go through all the trouble" - cause it makes them a boatload of money? And all these efforts help them to pull in more clueless investors. Also, there are so little regulations in the crypto space that I doubt they'd face any repercussions, and they know this too. The total cost includes legal counsel, cost of technology, hosting, advertising, and government registrations. They are also building an Android/iOS app to go with it, so 1 million seems fair.
