How To Make Your Own Designer Jeans With Flower & Bird Appliques

Have you ever dreamed of owning a pair of designer floral and bird applique jeans, but the price tag of hundreds and hundreds of dollars has scared you away? Then you've come to the right place, I am
going to show you step by detailed step how to make them AND we will do it on a dime. In this DIY tutorial we will take a pair of oversized thrifted men's jeans and bleach key areas, distress, patch, add flower and bird appliques and so much more. If you are a beginner sewist, no worries...the sewing here is pretty simple and basic. I sold my upcycled creations for well over a decade and I've since retired from selling and I'm now sharing all my tips, tricks and knowledge I've learned along the way. Have fun and take chances!

love you first time here ... why bleach if you are covering up with applique, is it to soften fabric? You can use whatever jeans you like. 100% cotton frays nice and usually takes bleach well. I do have a couple of denim bag diys🤗❤❤

This would be fun to use all those extra stitches on your machine. So cool! Bleach tip I got from a tie dyer here on YT: After you rinse the bleach, rinse the garment in a solution of 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 9 parts water, then wash. Apparently bleach can not get removed completely and can continue to break down your garment.

Incredibly adorable! Love your tip about sewing under the belt loops, that's been a frustration of mine! On a tutorial from a ways back, you'd mentioned that when you were selling, large size jeans sold better than smaller ones. What sizes would you put in that good-selling large category? I see some men's jeans with some rather large waists, and not sure at what point they are more practical to use for harvesting denim vs making larger sized jeans for women. That's a great question and hard to say how large to go. I do know there are a lot of beautiful plus size ladies who would love to get their hands on something like this. I would say if you find a great looking pair of jeans, no matter how large, they would prob be a safe bet. Plus, they are cute oversized and baggy. There is no exact science, just go with your gut feeling. I would guess the average sizes I sold were mid 30's thru mid 40's waist size.🤗💕💕💕💕
