You are so welcome! I am going to remake this video next year. I discovered an easy way to store the enamel dots on heavy duty sheet protectors in a flat tray. Hi Laura - I hear you!! Now, when you store these, store them flat. If they get jumbled together they tend to stick and are a pain to get apart. But flat they work perfectly.
@lauramartin7300 Жыл бұрын
@@SeniorSusieStamps thank you for that information. Will have to figure how I will store them first before I have the fun in making them. Idea just popped in my head, can they be stored in a page protector into a binder if I do them on an acetate sheet? Thanks for taking the time to reply. Appreciated that.
@SeniorSusieStamps Жыл бұрын
@@lauramartin7300 I have found that a heavy duty sheet protector is actually the best to put them on in the first place. I put a piece of cardstock grid inside just to help with placement and size. Then I usually cut them in 1/2 on the 11 inch side and lay them in a flat white tray on my craft desk. They stack well in that tray and are easy to get off the sheet protector. Some acetate sheets are too stiff to get them off of easily. You have to have just a little bit of bend in them to have the dots pop off. Does that make sense?

I really like this system. And it doesn't take long to get a nice supply. I find the heavy duty sheet protectors work great. They release the dots better than anything. And I store them on a sheet protector cut in half, flat in a stack, in one of those white dollar tree trays. They are easy to flip through and pick out what color you want. By varying the size you have an assortment to choose from.

Hi Tina - Good to hear from you again! I am going to redo this video in the Spring after my shoulder heals a bit. It has been a very popular topic! And you are right storage can be problematic. I also find the acetate you store on has differing release properties, so make sure it is not too stiff. Presently I store mine in a flat stack in a white tray I get from $Tree or WMart. And I have found that a heavy duty sheet protector is the best medium for me. I can slip a grid mat in for size/spacing when making them and then re-use it multiple times. Hugs, Julia

Thought maybe there was a special way to hold the bottle, etc. when making them..do you hold it up right? off to the side? ANY suggestions or tips is appreciated. Hi Jo - I understand completely I bought a full set of Pops from Scrapbook.com and can not get the peaks to go away either. I think it is the length of the tip on the Nuvo drops. I got some little bottles from amazon and am going to try to replace the tip or put some in those bottles to test my theory. This video will have to wait until after Christmas cards are finished tho so stay tuned. Now, let me tell you this - I find a grid sheet inside of a heavy duty sheet protector for spacing is ideal. I put the dots on the outside and then store flat until completely dry - minimum 48 hours. They pop off the HD sheet protector nicely and do not stick together. I will show more of this in the next video. I did try to laminate a grid sheet and they simply would not release off the laminate - frustrating I know! Hi Julia, I am having trouble with my Nuvo crystal drops. I have placed the dots of various sizes on a piece of acetate, and let them dry for a couple of days. They have dried very flat, and I cannot remove them from the acetate without damaging the edges of the dots. Sometimes half the dot stays on the acetate when trying to remove them, and it is very frustrating. When you were removing your dots they appeared to be so easy. Why then am I having this difficulty..., could it be that the liquid in the bottle is too runny? The enamel dots I have are certainly not want I want to put on my cards! I appreciate your help, thank you Julia. Have a blessed day crafting!

Hi Gloria - Are these dots all out of one bottle? This has not happened to me with Nuvo. However I had it happen with another brand. Also, not all acetate is the same with release. If I have that specific one I will try mine here. Let me know? I am Sorry you are having difficulty. Julia

@@gloriaonesimus6244 I find the heavy duty sheet protector works really well. You can see the grid through it, it's large enough to do a variety of dots. It also is very flexible to flip the dots off. I don't have that Nuvo but I am ordering it today. Will let you know when I have it to work with. Please don't get frustrated, set it aside and let me try on this end. Sometimes there are rocks in the road...keep your chin up! Julia I ordered the Nuvo drops and they should be here Thursday evening.

@@SeniorSusieStamps Good morning Julia, I might be frustrated, but I am determined that this little bottle of Nuvo drops won't beat me. This morning I attempted to remove the dots from the greased acetate sheet, and it was pretty useless as well as the edges were still sticking to the acetate sheet. I also got to thinking it was a stupid idea anyway as the greasy dots wouldn't adhere to any glues! Last night I decided to watch some other crafters videos on these drops to see what they do, and one lady used her craft sheet. I thought WOW... I have one of those, so before bed last night I placed six drops onto my craft sheet. (I was using my craft sheet for ink blending, but not any more since I purchased a Tonic glass media mat.) It hasn't been 24 hours, but I was too curious... I went in this morning and gently attempted to move one, and it moved freely... So maybe a craft sheet is another surface that can be used especially if people are having the same problems. Julia, you are so sweet to purchase the same Nuvo Crystal Drops, and I will be very interested with your results. I also might try your idea with the plastic sheet protector. Remember me saying that my first attempt where the dots spread on the acetate sheet, and were very flat? I wonder if that is because I didn't lift the bottle up high enough to give the dots height. We all learn from our mistakes, and I really do appreciate your help. Thank you so much Julia. God's richest blessings, Gloria

@@gloriaonesimus6244 Oh I am so glad you had success. I was thinking since you are new to Nuvo, you might have the tip too close and just spreading it out too much. Some acetate is just a different composition, I guess that is why I settled on the heavy weight sheet protectors. Will let you know when I get my drops in...have a wonderful week! Julia

Can you use Stickles?
@SeniorSusieStamps2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! You can use Stickles, but they are totally different in the outcome. The Stickles are more flat and rough. But you can pull them off and glue them on and go just like I do with these. The Stickles I would be more inclined to use as flower centers. There is a pic over on the facebook page - scroll down...and Come back soon!!

@@lynntjerne3826 I have some drying now. But I can tell you already that they are not rounding out nicely like the Nuvo drops. Will check in tomorrow after they have a chance to dry.

They look just like the kind that are priced at $6.99 a pack!

Exactly! What I found is that storing them flat is much better. And use heavy weight sheet protector they just pop right off.

Hi Brenda and Welcome to My Channel. I have found over the past year that using heavy weight sheet protectors with gridline insert works best. Keep them flat on the sheet protector. They come easy!

What a great idea. Thanks

Hi Veneta! You are welcome. I use these all the time. And I have to say they truly work best on heavy duty sheet protectors. The release is perfect if you just leave them on that. I am going to make another video on this as soon as I finish with Christmas cards!
