Great job. If texture is an issue, is there any problem doing all your feed with the Starter feed texture so that it stays the same even if the contents if the feed changes?

Sure, making all your feed with the same texture as the starter feed would have been a very good idea if it wouldn't affect crop fill or feed consumption. For small chicks, they will fill their crops normally without any problems, however for big chickens they will need more time since the feed particles are small for them. For example say; if you an adult were to eat with the spoon of a baby, you will take more time than if you ate with an adult's spoon. I don't know if you get the point?.

To have a uniform flock, you must begin from the first day to ensure that all birds have equal access to feed and water. Adjust your feed and water to benefit all birds. If it's too high; only the big birds will benefit more. So, a middle spot is the better for all birds. Also make sure they are evenly distributed in the house and finally also ensure that the environmental conditions in one area are not more favourable than the others. Check this out throughout the entire raising process.

Yeah, you're right. However, everything being equal, the gap shouldn't exceed 100g - 200g. That's why we said almost the same size.

I'm not very sure because if they are already behind on their weights at 3 weeks, they can't meet up. A farmer should have a clear picture of his/her targeted weight from day one. You must start preparing them from that stage.

Whether it's in mash form(dust) or pellet/crumble form, just make that the feed particle sizes don't excite what is recommended for particle age group. I'd not, it could affect feed intake.

Yes sir, even though they can both be by-products from soybean oil extraction meals. They have different protein and oil/fat contents. Also, soybean meal is of two types fullfat (no oil extracted) and the standard soybean meal from which oil has been extraction. Since both may have differences in nutrient profiles, they equally affect the quantity of other ingredients in the feed formulation if used independently.

Coarse flour (mash). Also, find a 3 to 5 mm sieve so that you can use it as a guide to adjust the particle sizes to the desired range for chickens 2 to 3 weeks old.

@@bachirousidibe8989 Best added during formulation at the mill (mix it in) especially powder types. Also, remember to follow the recommended dosage from the company producing the probiotics. Secondly, to improve their effectiveness, you might need to reduce about 5Kg of the corn/maize in the formula and replace it with wheat bran. This wheat bran added will serve as a prebiotic(fiber food) for your probiotic so that they can multiply fast and promote a better gut health in your chickens. I hope this answers your question.
