How to Make Your Own Wall Hanging! SUPER FAST and EASY!

Hello, my loves! I can't wait to show you how to whip out these adorable yarn wall hangings. The small one took no time! About 20-30 minutes IF THAT. The big one was a bit longer (4 hours) since I had to cut all the yarn.

The yarn used in the video:
SMALL HANGING:
•1 skein of Dewy DK yarn (colors come and go so choose any you like! I used Perfect Storm.) Multi-colored skeins are great because you get a cool fade effect as shown.

BIG HANGING:
•Luster Worsted Weight ( I used 2 skeins Angel Whisper, 1 skein Quill, 1 skein Rose Gold. Again, colors come and go and our inventory is constantly shifting. We're a small hand-dyed yarn company and are always churning out new shades. If you MUST MUST MUST have these exact shades, email me through the website requesting it and I can usually acquiesce and have them dyed for you if you can wait a few weeks for me to put them on the dye schedule).

But truly ANY yarn will work. Like I said in the video, natural fibers are best so you can make them hang straight at the end. Acrylic and other cheaper fibers just won't work quite as well, but in a pinch, they'll suffice!

I'm not actually sure. I know that some people would suggest steaming it to straighten the yarn out. I hope this helps : )

For the smaller one, I just cut open a hank and used that length. For the larger one, I wound balls and then made the lengths I wanted. You may need more than 1 skein to make the larger one. Probably 2 or 3, depending on your size and complexity.

I made the small one tonight, 3 ft. I learned something, I will never again use super skinny yarn nor yarn that comes in a ball! It literally took me 3 1/2 hours!! Next time I'll do what you did, get the yarn that's not in a ball and thick yarn! But.... It's pretty 😎

Love it and you are so beautiful.... How much yarn would I need for a door way from my kitchen??? 36 inches wide x about 70 inches long.. there is no door as I rent and would appreciate if could help me ... I have yarn which is actylic and some spun 100% wool thanks

For my large wall hanging which was about 40 inches wide and 60 inches long, I used 2 skeins of my luster sport weight yarn, 395 yards per skeins or 790 yards total. So, I would suggest about 900 - 1000 yards of yarn to create a wall hanging o the size that you would like.

This is great. My question: In the intro you were knotting different amounts of strands, maybe 3 strands, maybe 5 strands together. But as you were doing your differing braiding and twisting techniques it looks like the knots and strands of yarn per knot are about the same. Were they?

Hello! I bought 2 skeins of Perfect Storm in April, and just pulled them out to finally do this project...The dye of the Perfect Storm skeins I purchased from your shop are - well, dare I say - ugly.
