​@@bokexd3173Can't say the same about the poor transmission input shaft. Bought a b5.5 passat 1.9tdi 96kw. Some guy tuned it to the max on stock fuel system and turbo. Cat delete and egr bypass. Bought the car for its body that's mint and not rusty. Clutch is gone, transmission input splines are twisted.

The variety of German engineering goes from AMG engines reliable like a paper bag in the Rain, to engines like the 1.3 flat four boxer from the Beatle, or the 1.9 tdi. I've seen both of them with over a million Kilometers on them and still running. Sadly, since vw was found cheating with the emissions, and many many other companies found cheating as well, the durability of engines in general started to decline. Well of course in combination with trying to make more and more money, using cheap piston rings (TFSI engine) who cause catastrophic engine. failure after 120.000km, to save some cents in production for. Downsizeing and so many more reasons. Sadly...
