Technically not wrong, the DeLorean and the A310 got the same V6 PRV engine block (but the A310 was much lighter and got a way better gearbox). The A310 pack GT (the white one seen on a photo), was an actual rear-mounted engine (center of mass of the block behind the rear axle, RWD), a nightmare to drive under heavy rain, but otherwise the handling was correct on a dry road.

Here’s a tip: In a FWD vehicle, if you start to spin, floor the throttle when you countersteer, the torque steer will end up counteracting the spin. It’s the complete opposite from RWD, but it works. In FWD touring cars, it’s a genuine technique to counteract a spin.

I almost died, it was a reflex move for me, it saved my life. Been there done that. It works. Was doing 90mph in a 0 star crash test car that you can easily die in while doing 30, I went into a turn, in the cold winter morning, and the road under it had a waterflow. You can guess what happened. The wetness of the road became solid ice and it was a turn at the same time and I have driven into it with 90mph. My only luck was that nobody else was on the road and I had insane reflexes.. spun out 3x from trying to get the car back together into a straight line and while this happening Ive been sliding, heading into a ditch with 90mph.. and after spinning around 3 times I successfully got the control back and was going straight with around 40mph, I lost a lot of speed under that time. Easily the scariest and closest to death 8 seconds of my life, I left with a good lesson and brown pants.

I can give some of the tips on building a proper soviet car. Chassis and other mechanical stuff: 1. Simple technologies in everything, so you can reassemble the car in literal field. 2. Engine tuned to run on worst fuel possible. If it's the people's car, it's powered by MIGHTY "ONE POINT SOMETHING INLINE FOUR" If it's luxury/KGB car - it can be literally anything below, like, 6 liter V8. 3. Capable of going offroad, but not a real offroader, RWD, manual 3-5. 4. You can rise up a quality a little, soviets knew how to slap cars together. Body and fixtures. 1. Four door sedan, most of the cars had that type in Soviet Union. 2. Any body from 50s to 80s. Interior: pre-70s - everything is made of metal. Past 70s - black or beige plastic. 3. - How much chrome trim do we want? - Yes. Naming. The brand name: Pick first letter (or first 3 letters) from random ex-soviet city name and add "AZ". (AZ stands for "automobile zavod", or "automobile factory". Actually, you can add "AF" instead) Model name: 3 or 4 random numbers. May add some random russian noun. For example: UAZ 469, KamAZ 5320, RAF 2203 Latvia. hope this will be useful.

You'll probably find this funny Grog. Back in the 80s my dad worked in the workshop at the local Renault dealer. Saw his fair share of weirdness, his favourite was the Renault 4's gear linkage that starts at the front of the engine, goes straight up, goes directly across the top of the engine and protrudes from the middle of the dashboard. They, apparently, were one of the first to get hold of a Renault Alpine/GTA in the UK. Obviously the mechanics were all very excited to have a go of this thing, but first, they put it on the dyno. Didn't strap the thing down correctly and it broke free and fired straight through the back wall of the workshop.

French guy here and I gotta say... this is actually so accurate for a 1975-1980 French sports car 😂 This car is as if an Alpine was designed by Citroën and everything that made the Alpine great was ruined by Citroën's "avant-garde" design choices : weird-looking as hell, even more weirdly-made mechanically-speaking, can drive on three-wheels for some reasons, no kind of drivability or sportiness whatsoever... I also get some Matra Murena in it in the sense that it looks fast and sounds great but is dreadfully slow with like 110 HP maximum. Anyway, it is definitely more accurate than you think 😭😂 (btw, horse power in French is "chevaux moteurs" = horse engines... yeah don't ask)

Misato Katsuragi is perhaps one of the most based characters in anime history for driving a beautiful car like the A310. I imagine that her A310 was upgraded by Nerv of course, or at least she upgraded it a lot with her paycheck, what with it being a vehicle they had to get working again after Second Impact and all, and since its got a sequential shifter it can't be electric despite all the batteries in the back seat. Now, Misato in Rebuild is a bit less based for driving instead a Mazda Cosmo Sport 110, but just driving a Cosmo still makes her incredibly based. Edit: Not only that, but the Rebuild animators are ultra based for getting every tiny detail of the Cosmo correct, all the way down to the four flat bolts in the shifter boot ring.
