I would just bend those triangles up and put a rivet in it. It would dress up the sides and keep the seams neat inside

I have a multi needle machine and use the hoop tech clamps to monogram bags. I think I have another video showing how to use the clamps for bags. It makes it so much easier.

Just a regular zipper you can get at Hobby Lobby, Walmart, or Joann's nothing out of the ordinary.
