OMG ... I grew up on these! My (Italian) mom and grandmother made these often (no dipping sauce though). Love your channel and have found several similarities in the Korean dishes you prepare and the Italian ones I grew up with, as strange as that may sound.

I used to make fried zucchini all the time. You make yours very similar to mine, but I don't salt it before and after dipping in flour & egg, I also dip it in seasoned breadcrumbs with some parmesan cheese mixed in. I hit it with a little salt after frying. So.So.Good!
@FutureNeighbor7 жыл бұрын
That sounds good... I will make a mental note and try it like that next time. Thanks for sharing Chris!

We do that in Greece also. Just skip the egg dipping step, and instead of the soy sauce make a yogurt based sauce, and you have it.

Do you know why the zucchini where you are looks different than the ones in America? Great video! :)
@FutureNeighbor7 жыл бұрын
Josh Coneby We call them baby squash (애호박)~~ I believe they are bit smaller than the Zucchinis you see in the states but very similar taste profile
@mustwereallydothis6 жыл бұрын
Josh Coneby I grow that type in Canada, as well as yellow ones and some that are so dark they are almost black. The stores stock the solid green ones because they are the ones that people expect and buy most often. In my experience, they all taste pretty much the same.

how much is a lemon in Korea? I can get one here for less than a dollar Canadian
@FutureNeighbor7 жыл бұрын
Fruits and nuts are quite expensive! I saw 2 lemons "on-sale" for 3800 Won the other day (~$3). Limes are even more expensive ...
@elizabethshaw7346 жыл бұрын
I will send you a box of lemons with instructions to preserve them the Moroccan way and you can use them for over a year and we could trade boxes. I'll even pay the shipping for my box. ;-)

you're not washing off the salt? won't it be too salty?

Good morning Ritosha ;) When you pat-dry the zucchini with paper-towels, it usually takes a lot of the salt with it.

Hi Alexis, this banchan tastes best when eaten quickly after frying. You could keep it in the refrigerator for max 1 day... but it will start to get soggy.
