Yes, having a handy husband is a bonus,however if your husband's like mine and you present an idea to him, he's going to want to do it HIS way and how it will benefit HIM, and end up being completely useless to your needs. The handy guy is half the battle & you also need an effective communicator who cares about your needs as well and how you'll be using it once your project is complete.

regarding your hangers.. you could use the pink ones for just the tops and then the beige just for dresses, or vice versa. basically use color as part of your categorization. that way you don't have to get rid any of them but still get a more cohesive look

I'm not into expensive bags and shoes at all so I fast forwarded. :-/ Maybe make a collection video separate? I did love the tip about adding the trim to make the wire shelves look better though. This gave me some good ideas & inspiration for my shared walk in closet. Mine is very similar to yours in layout but wider & shorter. It currently just has the 2 poles on opposite sides set up like yours did & I put my shoes underneath with boots & other things stacked above in clear plastic storage bins. Everything fits but it's difficult to get to & easy to forget what you have if out of view. We also have storage drawers to stand in for a dresser since we don't have furniture for actual clothing storage in our bedroom. Customized closets can be very pricey & the kits from the big box stores don't always have a finished look for a walk in closet. Your husband really found a way to dress up those kits & make it look custom. Very nice. Great use of space.

My husband re did our closet about 2 years ago. For the last 2 years I thought it was too small (it’s not) I have decluttered my clothes 3 times in the past 8 months & then bought several items to revamp my look, which is pretty classic & similar to yours. Now I have plenty of room & can pick out an outfit really quick & like what I’m wearing. Your closet looks great & happy decluttering. 😁

Awesome transformation! Your husband is so sweet. We just bought a new home and I got to customize my closet- the best gift my husband has ever given me: the master walk in is just for me ❤️ He keeps his clothes in his home office since that room also has a closet and he's not that into fashion 😂 It's so much fun organizing- I am obsessed with fabric cubes: I have cubes for everything: one for leggings and workout clothes, one for scarves, mittens, beanies and miscellaneous winter gear, one for swimwear- the list goes on. I use my LV boxes to decorate the shelves too 👌🏼 Great results doll 😘

A few suggestions: Improve your lighting. That one bulb just doesn't cut it. I have an L-shaped closet and we put a 4-foot long light fixture along each L. It's like an operating room in there. You can see everything; no shadows. Also, I organize shirts and pants by color. Looks super-organized and makes it very easy to find what you are looking for.

Hopefully the wire shelves will withstand the weight of clothing. Unfortunately wire shelving tends to collapse eventually if stressed by too much weight.

JJ D I did mine over the last week. They are not exactly like hers I didn’t go with the adjustable system. I tried to put brackets to support weight on every stud and I used bolt screws instead of regular screws on the brackets so that it would basically attach to the stud and not let go. I’m hoping that it will last at least a few years. I do have a lot of clothes but only putting out seasonal clothes will reduce the weight a lot.

For europeans/germans it's quite hard to look at the habit of putting shoes onto a couch or even a bed. 😅🙈 Nice video though. ♡ I'd have loved to see, how you went through your clothes and chose what you all kept. ..And for the pink hangers: I would have used the pink ones more in the back, with all my black and maybe blue clothes (depending on how many they are..) So in the end the brighter colours would have hung in the front on beige, and the eye would rest on the pieces themselves, not on the bright pink hangers. And dark/black on pink, because there is "nothing to see" within the colours of this clothes.. And black fits pink.

Good job I love the idea of covering the wire! Super cute! One more thing you can do to is going to IKEA and getting some spot lights (to show off the bags) and get clear plugs for the shelf holes it will make it even better (keep one color for the hangers)! Love it! The hubby is a keeper!! LOL

I like the idea of the silver bar and 2 more rows for shoes in the corner. You could put a few of those Command brand hooks on your bare wall for the bag (and anything else you need to hang) so it does not mess up the wall and your husband does not have to plaster and paint that part later. The pink is very young and almost a bit 'crazy', in my opinion that would be more suitsble for teenagers. Having only one color hangers will look more classy and grown up. And: Maybe less clothes so you could actually move the hangers? I know, it's difficult to get rid of our clothes....but having a bit less, but the right pieces, is very liberating. I loved this video. Even your husband did his job very well, congrats to both of you!
