How to manage feline pancreatitis

My 14 year old cat has been battling episodes of Pancreatitis for 2 years now. A very frustrating disease. He can appear completely normal one minute and the next minute he is vomiting repeatedly. Cerenia is a God send for us. I have pills at home that I give him as needed but once the vomiting starts, I have to switch to Cerenia transdermal. If that doesn't work after a few hours, we have to take a trip to the vet for IV fluids and Cerenia injection which he bounces back to normal in a few hours. I hope this helps someone who comes here and reads the comments.

My cat is also pancreatic. You have to give your cat food with lowest fat, that helped my cat a lot. I also give him Silycure to detox his livre daily.

@@nickd2513 Good luck for your Oskie boy. My Carmel finally got so bad on July 31, 2023 and I had to say goodbye to him. It's so hard and I still cry thinking of him a year later.

Great. Cats are obligate carnivores, so please tell us what meat has the lowest, 5% max fat content?

@@eternalhellfortyrants8561 turkey, rabbit is also low in fat. But last time I read that a study was done on humans, who were pancreatic. The conclusion was more fat does not harm but carbs does damage pancreatic. And a phd diëtist for cats also said that pancreas of cats are not made to digest carbs. Nowadays I don’t pay attention to the fat percentage, I give home made cat food or cat food with almost no carbs. Last two weeks I gave him MjamMjam wet food, he is more active and playful.

I have a nursing mother that is throwing up blood and we have now narrowed it down to pancreatitis what can I feed her should I take her kittens away from her what should I do please somebody give me some information. And before anybody throws any shade I am her foster I've had her for 24 days and the only symptoms that she showed prior to 3 days ago was a pickiness and appetite but that has since picked up then the diarrhea and now this is a last 3 hours the vomiting started and it's only been three times of water with a little bit of coagulated red blood in it and it's Saturday of course so no vets are available where we're at LSA drive to another state so we're going to have to hold till Monday so we need help
