Great video Scott! One thing I hate is that the task list tasks in Loop doesn't allow you to add notes or subtasks, but the same task if you open it inside planner, you are allowed to do so. Since the task list has its own Board view, you might as well get best of both worlds by having it sync to planner and todo at the same time you organize it like a kanban🤔 I don't really get why it's divided like that, but I guess it will improve in the future!

Yes, I agree, I would hope to see even more improvements in the future and with Loop, there seems to be new updates all the time which is great!

@scott, after I whined in the existing comments, I went ahead and watched this video. I do see that you covered how to use existing plans within Loop, albeit with the caveat that security could be an issue. Thank you for covering this competently. So, it seems the decision regarding where one wants tasks to live needs to be made and implemented before deploying through Loop, unless Loop's Kanban boards are where one wants the tasks to live. Still quite frustrating and confusing.

Is there a way to add columns for labels in a task list loop component? Also - is the “owner” in the “milestone” template the same as the “assigned to” feature of a task list? Thank you.
@your365coach10 ай бұрын
I’ll need to check the columns in a Task List for you but the Task Owner is not the same as the Assigned to capability, as the Assigned To will sync with Planner and To Do which does not do the same when you have a Task Owner sadly
@emontosa10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. We'll explained but still very limited if you cannot sync with Planner and Todo. Whatever you do there, is a different plan to what you already had in Planner so I do not see the point. You work in a team, controlling tasks by Planner, you follow the weekly meeting and you need to jump back and forward between Planner, tasks, the agenda... Still confusing even though we have skilled people in the team and the Enterprise versions of everything...

I have the same issue with MS in general. Many different interfaces developed by teams that clearly aren’t in integrated. In the end it really doesn’t make sense. I have hopes on the new planner but I’m still using Asana.

Thanks for your great feedback and I think this has always been of thing of Microsoft 365, there are multiple ways of doing things in a single product and it can be very frustrating - but that’s why I created this channel too, to try and shine a light on the different ways of doing things even if some options are not too great 🙌😃

Does loop permit dependencies in the Kanban view?
@your365coach10 ай бұрын
Sadly not that I have seen - the Kanban is based on Tasks and each displays under a Group rather than having dependencies sadly 😊

How were you able to assign "yourself" to a task, in either the Kanban or the Task List in Loop? I don't seem to be able to do that. I've also seen some Microsoft forums where others are asking about this.
@your365coach10 ай бұрын
That’s odd, so you haven’t been able to add your own account as a Task Owner in a Loop Task List or Kanban? I’d love to say that I did something special but oddly it just worked. If it continues to happen then let me know and I’ll see if I can help further 😄
@skrivyd10 ай бұрын
Ya, this is very strange. It's only happening on one tenant that I manage (I'm the only active admin) Loop is enabled as per MSFT's recommendations, we have E5 licensing. I've cleared browser cache to eliminate that potential (though I'm seeing it on multiple devices). I'm at a bit of a loss.@@your365coach

Hello, can you tell me if all the information in my LOOP will be save in my SharePoint? Thanks
@your365coach10 ай бұрын
It’s sadly a long winded answer but yes it broadly stores things in either SharePoint or OneDrive and technically OneDrive or SharePoint 😄 If you need to find out more then you can check the below link for information: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/loop/loop-workspaces-storage-permission?view=o365-worldwide

I only have one bucket "Tasks" if I move a task out of it in Planner it'll disapear in Loop. I also do not have the column "Bucket" in Loop - am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
@your365coach9 ай бұрын
To be honest i have not seen this before, but is this when you are working with a Task List in Loop? If so, it's likely because the Loop UI has been designed to show that single Task Bucket, to keep it simple. As an alternative, can you copy the Plan in via copying the Planner Link into Loop, and then see all the Buckets and able to then maintain the Tasks? 😀

Oof! Yet another task tracker. There are too many now that does the same thing. And now Loop has not 2 but 5 task trackers built in! Trello, Jira, Planner, To Do and now this! This is too much even for a seasoned it pro. No wonder users find Microsoft 365 ever more confusing. Remember the top/bottom Teams channel messages? Old and new Teams hidden differences, new and old outlook, Teams/SharePoint/Onedrive confusion and other inconsistencies that make it confusing. I get Microsoft’s idea. Get to your data anyway you want to but new disconnected tasks now? And don’t get me started on the stupid channel calendar functionality in Teams when they could just expose the groups existing calendar to the team instead that synced 2-way with outlook and already exists? What do you think is the reason for this non-connected kan ban in Loop?
@JimCanto10 ай бұрын
My guess is they want to "appear" like they are THE platform that syncs it all for you. When, in all reality, as shown in the columns above, they don't. I love the idea of Loop. And, I love the idea of Planner. However, if I can't use Loop with existing plans organized in Planner (Loop creates a new/different plan), then, as @emontosa mentioned above; What's the point? Essentially, the adoption of one product detracts from the adoption of the other. And, in the end, it kills user adoption overall due to the frustration time-strapped folks experience when trying to organize their work.
@driver28810 ай бұрын
@@JimCanto But you can use an existing planner in Loop. Go to your plan and copy the link, paste in loop. But that is different and has a different view than the Loop built in task manager, which is very confusing.
@JimCanto10 ай бұрын
Ugh,@@driver288 my head hurts. ;-) So, quick question: If I use your suggestion, and paste an existing plan in Loop, can I then convert that pasted plan into a Loop element which can be shared? I'm part of a 3-person company that works primarily with external stakeholders, so in the long-run I'll need to be able to collaborate with them as well as my team. I wonder if Scott can help with this as well?
@your365coach10 ай бұрын
I did try this but the Planner at least in Outlook didn’t display like a Loop Component sadly but I’m not sure if that was just me, or by design 😁 What I would say, is the Planner Security is always controlled by the Group it’s associated to - so even if we gave access company wide to Loop Component, it wouldn’t display unless the person viewing the component had access to the Planner 😄
@driver28810 ай бұрын
@@your365coach that is true. It it’s the most connected M365 task management experience there is together with the to do task list integration. Also if you use trello or jira for projects that integration is very handy too
