One feature that I am keen for is if the tasks created in Loop can automatically be added to an existing Planner plan under a bucket you determine. Right now each time you create a task in Loop, Loop creates a new plan and I'll end up with multiple individual plans. But then in my organisation we use one central plan in Planner to track different lines of action and my Loop tasks don't end up there, I will need to go back to the Planner and add them separately. I would like to see for instance taking meeting notes and minutes in Loop, then creating a simple task in Loop straight under the minutes and then that task automatically can be added to the organisation's existing central plan in Planner and not create a new plan.

I’d rather how it currently works. I create a task board on a single loop page, I can keep coming back to the same task board and adding tasks

I detest Loop. It appeared so great at the onset but it's never accessible where it should be and I can't delete it from its unhelpful. #fail

Great video. 100% on the wish list for Planner tasks in Loop. I agree that it would be useful to insert a single task from a planner board as a component. We use the rest of the page to discuss and collaborate on that task. So it would be good to have a live view of that task from Planner.

Thanks for the compliment! Your Loop content is great as well 😊 I think we both see the potential of what it could become.

Is there a way to associate a loop workspace with a specific planner board, so that every task created within a loop workspace becomes part of that planner?

Man it's hard to go all in on using some of this stuff when it's still in such a fluid hot mess state. To borrow from your Co-Pilot review, it's all "almost amazing"
@BulbDigital9 ай бұрын
It's one of the curses of evolving tech for sure. I want to know what's coming/changing, but I also dread waiting and transitioning through it.
@faucillon9 ай бұрын
Sorry to disagree. It is ALREADY amazing. And they are continually adding more to make it more amazing. Not using it now, will in my opinion only make it harder to transition later. One thing I still hope to see is to be able to assign subtasks to a person and due date. It's not there yet, but even without it, we are more efficient with it than ever before.

Created a task list in Loop, and used the Loop function to create a Planner board. Does this guarantee that the tasks will stay in sync if I change the task in either tool? Seems like I'm seeing them get out of sync. Specifically, I see more tasks in Planner than in Loop.
@BulbDigital9 ай бұрын
That's the idea for sure. I have noticed things being a little slow sometimes too, thinking it was broken, then coming back later and things being completely synced up. So there's still some room for improvement for sure. I generally trust using them each independently with confidence things will sync, but would avoid flip flopping between each with quick updates.
@barrygriffey7129 ай бұрын
I think when I'm editing the item in Loop, it's making a copy of the item in Planner, and leaving the original also in Planner. I can't prove it but seems legit. I'll keep playing.
@rodds55698 ай бұрын
@@barrygriffey712 I found that adding items subsequent to creating a Task List in Loop have problems syncing to Planner (I pin that Task List's Planner View in Planner app after creating). Creating a Plan in Planner, then pasting the URL in Loop is much more robust syncing. But, you don't get the different presentations on the Loop side (e.g. list, calendar, etc) that you see in Planner itself - you do get the Kanban style of presentation.

I’m keen and still waiting for a security level on a task that only the creator or another owner can complete the task. I have eleven people assigned to a task that links to various docs on SharePoint. Each person reviews and update section of the docs but not complete the whole task. I get them to sign off on a form there job is done. Educating Poole to not complete the task is like herding cats. Also excellent Vid thanks

If I remember correctly that feature comes with Project for the web, or rather Planner premium now. It also supports subtasks the way you are talking about, rather than just a check list on a task.

Are the comments available in Planner Premium with loop? They removed comments and @ tagging in Planner Premium for some reason

It sounds like they're shifting to a "start a Teams chat" direction instead of comments. Loop has yet to integrate with Planner Premium as far as I know

Whats your opinion on using planner or loops. I'm a bookkeeper and looking to setup a plan for all my work for all my clients?

@MurrayBarnetson6 ай бұрын
Loop looks very pretty etc but I have tried it and watched videos and just cannot find a proper use case for it because it does Outlook, OneNote, Planner, Tasks etc but never does it better than them but my biggest concern is not knowing for sure that tasks show up anywhere other than the Loop page they are on. After weeks of creating pages, does it not turn into a massive porridge? Plus who has access to the Page and the Elements on the Page? And lastly, if you leave your company, how do you take copies of all your work done? In OneNote, for instance, its easier to take notes with you.
@BulbDigital4 ай бұрын
The closest similar app is for sure OneNote, but also Notion outside the MS space. We find Loop as a great solution for pulling in data from different places and bringing them into the same workspace. There's definitely some discipline that has to go into keeping workspaces and page structures organized!

I really dont get the benefit of using Loops when you could just go to planner? Is it to display multiple plans lets say if you had multiple teams using planner or projects you could display their progress etc
@BulbDigital8 ай бұрын
It's sort of a "choose your own adventure". I love the ability to see Planner content alongside other content on a loop page, as opposed to having my whole window be "Planner". You can 100% display multiple Planners on the same Loop page as well, which isn't possible in Planner.

Nice video and appreciate the wishlist when it comes to filtering, because this is what I came to watch this video for - I need to be able to filter the Planner components for showing different tasks on different Loop pages, else it is useless for me, because it just displays our team's entire board. Keep up the good work making these videos:)

Its a mess. I am sorry. I understand that Task, Progress Tracker and Kanban are used for different things but the itsy bitsy problem I have with that is there is no description that the Tasks are the only ones that get you the Planner sync, despite both Kaban and Tracker have the option to assign the problem solver. Now with new planner you cant really generate the loop link probably "yet", but you also cant access the loop created planners through it as well because thats still kinda the old planner system. I don't want to sound overly negative. There is usefulness to all this, but god damn $158.735B profit for 2023 Microsoft. Mess and lack of clarity like this are insulting to me.
@BulbDigital7 ай бұрын
Oh no you're not overly negative, it's still a little messy - I'd love to see a world where a "Task equals a Task" in every respect. But I do also see a purpose for tracking larger concepts that aren't actual tasks. It's a tricky line to ride. And yes on the new Planner stuff - little bit half-baked right now.
