Ive had my g sedan swapped for a few years now and didnt do the trans wiring. Thanks for explaining what to do and how to do it. After all these years you figure someone would have made a forum how-to post by now

That thing by the e brake is the yaw sensor. You need to relocate that further up closer to the shifter. There’s a comprehensive guide on how to do the swap now on a forum and a new video from a guy that did it to his sedan aswell

I don’t think you can get away with just extending the auto drive shaft. They have different connectors on both ends of the drive shaft. The part that goes into the transmission is short on the auto and is blocked by some black metal piece. I haven’t done the swap yet but comparing them side by side that’s how it looks. The manual one has a longer connecter on the side that goes into the tranny. I believe you will need a manual transmission driveshaft regardless. Also the rear differentials are different for a reason. Instead of having to cut that nipple on the auto diff, you could swap for a manual one and fit just fine. There’s also a big ratio difference in the manual ones. It’s a 3.69 rear gear and 3.3 or 3.4 for the auto. To be oem as possible i would just go ahead and get a manual rear diff

You have to mark the pinion nut before you take it off and torque it back to where it was unless you replace the crush bearing. Hitting it with an impact will kill it every time. I did the same thing a few years ago and it lasted about 20 miles of a track day.

Nice hair brody! 😂🤙🏽 basically looking at this as a nice video to have side-by-side if I end up having to do this… my original 2007 V36 Sedan 6MT was rear ended at a red light, its hard to find these G35S in OEM 6MT (it was order only at the dealers), so figured if I cant find a replacement I’ll get a fully loaded S auto and do a CD009 swap and continue where I left off on mine.

I bought a trans that was locked in gear also and the seller was able to take the black cover off and unlodge something and the trans was great when I installed it. So don’t throw it away yet

For the transmission wiring harness for the neutral and reverse switch does orientation matter? Obvious grey and yellow together for the neutral switch but does it matter what slot I put them in
