Kudos for this video. Every time I have to think of programming anything on the portable transceivers gives me anxiety. This video helped prove that anxieties are now the thing of the past (at least for Yaesu radios that is). Thanks!

I know you made this 3 years ago Mike but I'm sure I am not the only one who finds it really useful. Thanks.

Unfortunately your video came a few years after I got my radio, it would have helped a lot back then! Still giving you a like so other newbies can see it popping out from the suggested videos.

Just got this radio but when I try to make an offset, nothing happens. The a button works but it isn't letting me make an offset when I hit it on RPT. Any suggestions?

Mike, saw the 430Mhz , does it go beyond to cover the 446 Freqs also Does it just to the 6watts out, if so can it be hooked up to a Amp ? Im not licenced yet ,working on it find your Vids very easy to follow 👍
@OntheMicwithMike3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I do appreciate the kind words. The 817 and 817ND only does 5w but as you mentioned the 6w that’s the newer one, the 818 that does 6w output. I think they struggle to push 5w on the standard battery at best, but most certainly when run from an external power source. The 817 does cover 446 yes, and again yes you can run an amplifier with it. Cheers and beers, stay safe 73’

Hi just wanted to ask about CB. On the Furlough scheme and can not do any more gardening so thought about CB. I use Zello but fancy the old way but am not an licenced amature. So my question is in Sussex near Eastbourne is there much activity.
@OntheMicwithMike4 жыл бұрын
I think there is but more activity around Brighton towards Worthing.

Great, how do you program for frequency readout on memory channels instead of reading the channel number twice M-003 and CH-003, this setting in kinda dumb
@OntheMicwithMike3 жыл бұрын
You can simply change the memory ‘tag’ to show frequency read out in settings. Press function ‘F’ and rotate the select knob until you see ‘MW, MC and TAG’ on the bottom row. Just press TAG to change from memory channel readout to frequency readout.

Mike, once the repeater shift is set to what you need (for GB3WO here) and stored in a memory slot, if later one the repeater shift was changed, say for a 2m shift etc etc I presume the memory channel still holds the 7.6 shift you set it for on that memory channel?
@OntheMicwithMike3 жыл бұрын
Yes you’d have to program it again.
