How to manually Regen a Kenworth T680 with Paccar Engine

Make sure the truck is running and brakes set.
Turn cruise control on then flip the regen switch down.

Is there no display of the soot regen starting and the progress? If not that's very disappointing. The european DAF with the same engine will show this, it will also show if there is a condition prohibiting the regen to start when you push the button, so you know what to do (example: coolant temp too low). It makes no sense to me that the cruise control must be activated to start the regen.

On my 13 T660, you need to have the engine brake and cruise control off. Then hold the button between 10-15 seconds and it starts.

Sounds like youve been idling a lot at low rpms. Raise the rpms to 850 or so when idling.

If youre having to do it already on a 2021 then youre probably not raising the RPMs when its idling. Remember, once ur stopped press ON/OFF for the cruise control. The engine icon with RPM pops up. Then press up a couple of times to about 850. You can fine tune it a bit by holding down the up and down buttons, but 850 seems to work well. Another video recommended 1000 RPMs but in my case all that happened was I burned a lot of extra fuel but still got a High Soot warning.

It depends on how gunked up the system is. I have had a regen last 2 hours, usually 20 to 45 minutes if it is not bad.

Help. Have 2018 t680 will not even let me do manual Regen. Says not to drive 10 min prkd Regen needed. Yet there isn't even a blower on dash saying soot level is high. Nothing but the warning

The engine has to reach high enough temp for regen to start, if it is cold out or if the engine is cold, it may take a while.

300,000 on mine ( Cummins not a junk Paccar) never had to do one. The reason guys have this issue is they idle a lot and they don't bump up the RPM'S to keep the temp and pressure up. If idling a long time say over night bump them up to 900 to 1,000 ask any good mechanics or call kenworth you'll see

The Kenworth 450 parked procedures are. Turn on the cruise control button, turn on the regen button then push the set/resume button twice.
