Does work, especially if you have transferred all of your messages from another phone ie andriod or older iphone or ipad. I've tried for years to get this to work and i'm always left with 20-50 unreads. I'm a realtor so it would be AMAZING to find an ACTUAL solution.

How come after I marked them all txt msgs as read there are still msgs shown as unread on the text app and when I open the app is not showing any unread msgs?

So. It sorta works. I manually selected all my convos. Marked them as unread. Then clicked “read all” tedious but that worked

I have an iPhone SE 2020 -- In the messages application, I can select "edit", "select messages", then "read all" and MOST of the messages loose the blue dot, but almost every time, a few messages do not clear that blue dot. I have to go back and re-do the edit/select/read-all to have all messages marked as read. Why does it take two tries to mark everything as "read"? Is there some other way to do it all in a single operation? This has been going on every since I got the SE Second Generation, passing through several iOS updates. If I were to complain to Apple, would they do anything about it? Or do they consider this "obsolete technology"?

I have a stubborn contact that will not mark as read. They are another iPhone user. They don’t not marked as read and if I delete the messages it just comes back

You can pin your favourites at the top by selecting the chat you want to pin 📌
