Why all those screws in the wallplate straps? NHBC only require four screw fixings per strap into the blockwork. All those extra ones you put in are doing nothing, only adding to the labour cost of the job; it doesn't make it in any way a better job. I only raise that point because anyone watching would think that was the 'correct' way to do it. Of course, you can put in as many as you want, but it's completely pointless to do so. Nice to see Dan on this channel, a really down-to-earth and skilled tradesman.
@BuildWithAE3 жыл бұрын
Hi George it is true what you say about the straps but I never said that this is how it should be done I say this is how I do it and that’s really it, it’s funny I seen a few videos showing a wall plate only 4 x 2 being used but for me it’s always been 4 x 3 but that’s up-to the big sites but not for me, it was great having Dan working with us his Roofing Square is a cracking bit of kit, have a awesome weekend all the best Tony 👍

As a European...I consider this "wall plate" ass useless piece of instalation... Just drill a hole through that wood and brick, push in chemical anchor and install thread rod and nut...and...that´s all folks...and for this length...you just need 3 thread rod for each wall
