One small note: if the clip you're using has an audio track, be sure to disable the audio on the duplicated layer, otherwise your rotobrush clips will have a higher audio volume. nonetheless, awesome tutorial!

I've made a similar comment in another of your videos, but it's worth repeating -- your get-to-the-point style is SO appreciated. It's way too common to find tutorials that take three minutes or more to START addressing their topic. I wished I'd seen this one two months ago before spending a weekend trying to correct a crappy greenscreen!

When doing this with a video, at one point in your video do you bring it into After Effects? When everything is done except the text? Just export it out of Premiere in the desired resolution and bring into After Effects or is there an easier way to link the two projects?

Hi Justin, great video thanks! I'm using this technique, but I need to export just the title layer with the cutout as the background video is going to the Colour Department. Is there a way to export just the text layer with the roto info cutting out the text? Many thx!
@paulwedel31694 жыл бұрын
Figured it out: select the top layer that you've roto'd, right-click and select "Blending mode->Silhouette Alpha." That cuts the text to the shape of the roto, allowing you to export an alpha of just the text only.

hey Justin. first of all nice work with tutorials..thanks. but I got a small problem with this roto brush tool. I got same frame rate as u got but have frame rate mismatch. actually can't do anything with this tool right now. it says set to 35.964 frame rate to match. actually in the end it won't be good looking in different rate would be?

I'm not seeing the frames of gray in my timeline and noticed you edited the video right there. Is there a step i missed. (3:27) I'm a AE newbie

Hi The Goods, you can check the Freeze behind Render, do not high light the Freeze (let it gray), and you should see the arrows.

the reason is mostly because you're using a long video and there is a large number of frames
