Thanks for this conversation. I’m new to ACIM, and I’m reading Ms. Williamson’s book A Return To Love. I also just bought her book Mystic Jesus. I love to listen to her interviews, and learning from her. I left church a few years ago because I’m gay, and no longer felt safe at my church. My pastor was very hateful to homosexuals and often called for their execution. So, I’ve been searching for truth and help spiritually, and then I discovered ACIM. It took me awhile to begin studying it because of my negative religious brain washing. I gave away my books because the brain washing. I recently bought another Course, and have begun to do the study.

Love the material of the Course and it's message of nonduality as the path to peace and happiness. Wish there was a version of the Course that didn't use Christian language as this limits its audience as some from non-Christian backgrounds are uncomfortable with the Jesus/Christian language and search for other paths. Hence why 12-step programs have been so successful using the language of a higher power rather than Christian based langauge. And so interesting that so many of the key figures in the Course are/were Jewish (Helen Schucman, Ken Wapnick, Marianne Williamson, etc.).

I hear you. I personally think the Course is perfect and exactly as its supposed to be, Christian language and all. Its from Jesus afterall, and He is helping us to correct misperceptions around His teachings, so ACIM is perfect for that. I think people can change the words in their mind if that helps them (for me I always said Love instead of God),......but once we forgive the past and have the experiences ACIM points to, using the words as they are given in the book itself make perfect sense. What’s strange to me about this is that the mystical tradition is and has always been present within traditional _orthodox_ Christianity . Most if not all of the great Christian mystics have not rejected the orthodox doctrines of the Church . And yet , that adherence did not diminish the spiritual attainment of these great saints . If orthodoxy was so problematic , how do we explain folks like St John of the Cross or St Theresa of Avila ?

I loved this podcast Marianne. I think problem with politics is you have to push it and yourself and there are so many who aren’t ready to hear/feel. When you’re teaching spiritual messages people are choosing to be with you. I think Kamala is doing a great job of teaching from her her heart and because of her long experience in politics she is able to take all the darkness in her stride. I believe she is less conscious than those of us who live with ACM but nevertheless steeped in the allowing which ACM teaches without the actual awareness.

Great conversation! Marianne definitely HAS her groove back( not that it was ever less, but we dont see the Sun shine to the same degree every day) But not only is this conversation a helpful boost for Marianne's book sales, but also helps illustrate the way Jesus wiil be an ACTIVE force in our lives if we invite him in.Not such a leap from thr traditional model, which I grew up UNDER, but have learned to see unity THERE as well as part of my forgiveness process.I am NOT especially in sync with Mariannes ultra leftward leaning politics for I think the present disastors we are witnessing are a direct result of the attempt to replace Jesus gospel with the " social" one.I DO NOT believe they are identical, in fact if I suspected they WERE, I would immediately reject Jesus as well.I appreciate the " spirit" of Liberation Theology, but that implies no concord with " cheap state socialism",where the means to an ends are out of accord with such ends, there will not be desireable results.We must STOP PRETENDING the use of force through all manner of political subterfuge is ethical, the results are ALWAYS one bloodbath after another.The Mystic Jesus is revealed first to the receptive " individual", THERE we will find the path that will LEAD ( rather than mislead) to " the Kingdom".Blessings to both of my fellow ACIM student/ teachers.

Thank you for this! I am Jewish and I have always believed the basics facts about the spiritual Jesus that you are speaking! I am grateful and have found a “home” for my instincts. I have had a very interesting spiritual road that I have travelled. I investigated so many western religions. The main problem with the "mystic" Jesus is that the gnostic gospels are largely dated much _later_ than the four Gospels and Paul's letters .

Marianne is marvelously intelligent and articulate. It seems obvious to me that she could be called to political campaigning, not for the sake of winning an office. Millions of people were exposed to her in some way, and therefore also (--for some part of them--) to ACIM, to her content online, and to a more clear way of thinking. Why is this not reason enough to be called to stand in front of the public? Part of the message from the restauranteer is that she reached untold souls and had effects upon them that she does not know anything about. Maybe one of them will be the parent to a president, someday. Haha, like Interstellar: The father was necessary for enabling the daughter to save the community of men. In ACIM, Jesus tells us to neither underestimate nor overestimate our roles.

Say good bye to the suffering and make the world a co-creation space with God instead of a co-dependency with the ego. Everyone who accepts to be co-creators will answer the call in a different way.

Jesus warned: "For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many." (Matthew 24:5) Christ is Greek word for Messiah. A Course in Miracles says we all are christ. ALSO NOTE: The biblical gospels were written in the forst century, the Gnostic "gospels" came later. And Gospel of Thomas was found in different versions, developed over time.

Having a relationship with Jesus IS bonding with Jesus. Every story she shared and every question I asked was about Jesus and how he leads us to Healing. Marianne is a demonstration of that...gratitude comes out naturally in witnessing that . It's natural to have gratitude for another when we love our brothers as ourselves. Not sure why you chose to see an egoic something instead of a beautiful blossoming holy relationship before your eyes. But it's definitely up to you to choose what you want to see. God bless you 🙏

Read Jesus his autobiography through Tina Louise Spalding, it also explains acim. There are good points ik her other books as well (I don't agree with everything, but many good things are in it).
