How to MASTER Asymmetric Tactics In FM24 | FM24 Tactics

Thanks for the vids ;) The day I realized that pretty much any symmetric tactic is asymmetric at some point during games, it became much less scary for me! So I started experimenting and my results are : if the basics of a good tactic are there, there's no reason why an asymmetric one wouldn't work ^^

Im currently running my Schalke Safe with an asymetrical 4-2-3-1 and as many "excotic" roles as possible and its really fun and potent. I won the 2nd Bundesliga with Schalke 04 (not that hard i know) on a point record and finishing rank 7 in my first Bundesliga season while also winning the Cup with a 2:1 victory in the final against Bayer Leverkusen. Battering RB Leipzig in the quarterfinal 6:3. P WTM(SU) T (or OM/A) APM(A) DW(support) BWM(SU) IWB(SU) BPD LIB IFB Player roles: Poacher: The main reason for the poacher is that he stays in the box and doenst go into halfscpaces. He is more a bait for the centerbacks to draw their attention. WTM: His main job is to hold the ball and give it to the APM but he will be a constant threat on the far post for crossings while the poacher keeps the 2 centerbacks busy APM: Goes into halfspaces for a finish, idealy both 2centerback are covering the poacher and there is only one DM left to take care of either the APM or the Trequartista. U can also use an CM(A) Trequartista: Basicly the wild cart in ur offense who does what ever he wants. U can also use an OM(A) with dribble more. Defensive Winger: The hero in this tactic. Shuts down the flank while providing crosses and passing options Pretty much like a Box2Box midfielder but with crossings. But he will also cut inside from time to time and go for a finish if possible. IWB: Teams up with BWM to retain posession. If ur playing against a formation with 3 defenders u should change him to a regular WB on attack to overlap with the Widetargetguy. BPD: self explaining LIB: Holding 6 to link up play IFB: teaming up with the BPD. in combination with the defensive winger its boarderline impossible to hit u with crosses. Team instructions: In posession: Narrower formation, shorter passing, higher tempo, everything else depends on ur team but being more expressive isnt a bad idea In Transition: Gegenpress In Defense: more often triggerpress, prevend short gk distribution. outside pressing trap Keep in mind that thats not the average 4-2-3-1 so its gonna take few games for ur players to adapt and u will most likely loose or draw the first 3-5 matches. Its also bit difficult to find certain player roles like the widetargetguy or the defensive winger so its better to retrain regular target forwards and wingbacks.

@@YGormy mh tbh i dont really notice a difference to a regular OM on attack. i managed to snatch cem urzun from nürnberg and he has insane dribbling, technique and fliar so i thought ill give it a try. since the original idea was to press as many rare/exotic roles as possible into one tactic i thought that would be a good addition :D Btw even though that tactic is really good it has its up and downs. u gonna destroy every 4-4-2 u will ever encounter. and i really mean DESTROY. everytime i faced a 4-4-2 it ended with at least 6 goals. on the other hand u gonna struggle against 3-4-3 or, even worse, 3-5-2. its like running against a wall.

@@YGormy nah like how to find the reason why you are losing games. I build a tactic tested it with arsenal and I often have a lot of possession but can’t get chances. I’m not really sure how to find the mistakes in datacenter

Okay I think I get what you mean. Utilizing the data hub (aka numbers) to pinpoint what is going wrong in the tactic or whether it is a problem with a player, right?
