Easily the best I've had, better than any in stores, that's for dang sure ~!! Also, I know fresh veggies are preferred, but I've actually roasted broccoli and cauliflower straight from frozen.. I've been eating hummus since I was a kid. I recently started making it a couple years ago and I make it without tahini or sesame seeds and my girlfriend and I enjoy it. I am going to try adding sesame seeds though if they're inexpensive and see how that goes.

Everything looks really good, I would recommend using extra firm tofu instead though, it will hold together better and I personally prefer a more solid, less "baby food mush" texture for my food. also, thumbs up for bell pepper.

Made this today and it was so easy!! One question, I didn't have sesame seeds on hand for the hummus, does it make a difference in taste? Also, this was my first time trying tofu! I brushed the lemon juice and garlic marinade but my tofu didn't really have that much taste! Is that normal? Should I be adding some salt? Thanks guys!!!

Hey Silvia, The sesame seeds won't make a huge difference. As for the tofu.. every tofu is different and it's about finding a brand you like. and yes the salt will help =)

In America, we call them sweet bell peppers, some countries call them Paprika. A sweet bell pepper has almost no or 0 capsaicin, that is what makes a pepper hot. Happy wife, happy life, she is right!

you could just use lemon and olive oil if you like or just cook the tofu with just olive oil brushed on so it'll crisp up a bit. the lemon and garlic is just for flavor

Feel free to use other spices! You can do oil, lemon and ANY other spice you have. The tofu takes on the flavor of whatever you spice it with.

Omit the olive oil and use tahini and you have a low fat hummus, I think.

Hmm, not sure why you want low fat hummus. And you need the liquid in there to make it! Tahini is just ground sesame seeds. So, we would recommend sticking to our recipe :)
