Hi this dipstick is correct it doesn't have to go all the when you insert the dipstick it will stop at the point where it makes contact with the sump this is a universal dipstick for all mercedes transmissions

As per the dealer the dipstick for transmission does not have to fit all the way end it is a universal dipstick made for various lengths of transmission tracks sometimes it may fit halfway sometime do thirds of the way that is normal.

The dip stick is long and would not go in all the way.. And secondly the transmission is best check when engine is hot after running and then parked on a flat surface. In a park position you should run through the shifter from P R N D for about 10 seconds each and back to P.... With the Hand breaks or foot on breaks of course...🤣 Check the black portion of the dip stick after entering it completely into transmission. It should be at the 80 degrees mark on the dip stick..

The dipstick is right but when ur measuring transmission oil the engine must be running to get the correct levels cause of torque converter.

Maybe this dipstick is only for workshop oil check! I have one for merc w211! So it is universal for lot of models and does not stay in!

Other videos state that dipstick is not supposed to be fully inserted to get a correct measurement. Apparently it is normal to have a section not go completely in. Search and you’ll see.

the proper way to check the gearbox oil, it has to be engine on, till it gets certain degree, hot that is then let the engine on, then put the dip stick in, then out, then it shows the level,

No, no, no, no, you're not meant to insert it all the way. Insert it until you feel it hit the bottom of the sump. Then you have your level check point. It wants to hit the sump with it in NEUTRAL RUNNING. That will give you your accurate reading.

You don't know what you doing mate! Dipstick is fine - it's just a generic model. You just push it in until it stops so the reading is fine. This is the same for all cars and the dipstick is just long enough to ensure that it works for other cars too where the dipstick tube is longer. It should have said all this on the instructions that the dipstick came with.
