@@ElectronicsAD Excuse me, can we connect the red lead directly to the + part of the battery and the black lead to the negative of the battery as well? I just want to know how much current my battery is able to provide.

@@tocube1 No, you should not connect a digital multimeter (DMM) directly to a battery to measure current. It will damage your DMM or Battery.

connected red wire to 10amps and black to com. now connected the red in positive in phase and negative to neutral in the AC current. The dial is set to 10A. NOW SPARKED AND MAINS TRIPPED. POWER GONE. HOW TO MEASURE CURRENT/AMPS IN AC CURRENT WHICH COMES TO HOME AND WHAT MISTAKE I DID

1) Turn off the power source in which you want to measure the current, 2) Set the multimeter to the appropriate AC current range, 3) Open the circuit and connect the multimeter in series with the load, 4) Turn on the power source and read the current value on the multimeter. As per your query, You did wrong in 3rd point. Please rewatch the video from timestamp 3:00 minutes.
