How To Measure Doorbell Transformer AC Voltage & Hertz Tutorial

In this video I show you how to measure the AC voltage and hertz on a doorbell transformer. You may want to do this to verify that your doorbell transformer is compatible with smart doorbells such as blink or ring, etc. I show you how to use a Fluke 117 multimeter to measure the voltage and show you step by step how to measure the voltage on the doorbell transformer the correct way. I show you which test lead to use first and which test lead to remove first. I also show you what happens when the doorbell button is pressed and how that temporarily changes the voltage. Make sure that you are comfortable working with electricity or do not try this. Make sure you are wearing the proper safety equipment and take all safety precautions. Wrong wires ….. using CAT 5 or 6 for a doorbell is not legit . Use 2 wire with a neutral and a hot
