Love this, I can think of a bunch of ways I can adapt it to things I make. Guess I have a trip to the hardware store... Do you open a new e6000 for each video? Otherwise I can't figure out how you keep it so neat, mine always gets blobs at the tip, or the lid glues itself to the tube and I need pliers to get it off. :\

My Name Is Ha! I do have a lot of E-6000, but we have one pretty tube for the videos and then we use an old used up tube for the project. We have a funny name for the used up tube, but I won't write it here. We always laugh when we pull it out because it's so crumpled.

Hi Luna, You can, but be very careful to use serrated edges scissors OR put some glue around the sharp edges. Cans are VERY sharp and you could really scrape yourself when doing this project if you're not careful.

How do you prevent the edges from being so sharp? I see how you trim the points, but even the straight edges are sharp. Do you paint over them or file them? I even thought of touching the edge with clear nail polish. Just wondered what others do to make them safer. Thanks

Hey Ron, use serrated edge scissors. They are for tin and when you cut with them the edges are like a butter knife edge.

Mark, can you please tell what the gauge/type of flashing is? The flashing I bought at the hardware store is too thick and very difficult to engrave and the "tooling" I got at the art store is too thin, although perfect for teaching art at school. I'd like to use the right thickness where it's similar to aluminum can, but a bit sturdier. Thanks so much!!

Hi Rosie, there are some flashings that are thicker than others. You might try a True Value for some options. That's where I get mine. I wish I knew the exact brand, but I don't. I buy it on the roll and they can measure it out for you. I've also purchased some that has gold on the back. If you can find that, it works very well.

dyeitb1ack Flashing is used for roofing here in the US. I'm pretty sure they have something that will work there. If you're desperate to try this, you might try aluminum tape on cardboard. I think that might do the trick.

Bibi Lopez Hi Bibi, Singer makes a terrific gray industrial machine that I find works very wall on all materials. It's not very expensive either. Actually Milagros are religious folk charms that are traditionally used for healing purposes and as votive offerings in Mexico, the southern United States, other areas of Latin America, and parts of the Iberian peninsula. These are not "Los Milagros" Plus they have images of Loteria in them. I do know my culture and I know it well.
