Only 3 years late to this one :) I've watched loads of your 'How To' videos, they are brilliant, it still takes immense talent to do it as well as you do but seeing it done live makes things feel achievable, like its not some kind of magic voodoo, which is really motivating! Baby by four tet (my spotify wrapped says this is my fave tune) and kerala by Bonobo? Probably more so from a drums pov. 🙂

Soooo sick. Nice track man! I would change that riser a bit though. the idea is cool, but the sound/timing/placement kinda sucks before the DNB. The continued chromatic rise into the fill doesn't really work. Just stop one note early there, I think.. Maybe 2? Maybe restart the climb after the fourth note, but make it an octave chord at that point... So it still keeps going up, but you have the lower octave under the second half of the climb. You could also automate it to break up and get bigger and bassier by the time it hits that last note.. so it just explodes into the next part. I realize you're flying through, not trying to hate :) Workflow is thoroughly impressive; you're definitely killing it. Just offering constructive criticism. The track slaps, and seeing your workflow was really well done and helpful.

That first idea is sick but the drum beat for it is pretty typical. I swear a more rhythmic/groovy drum beat with more snare hits in a half time feel would make it pop out more. Like maybe a: KKKKSKSKKS following the rhythm of that. With half time on some hats.
