Thanks. With your help, I completed the set up over a month later. I can't stand Google Analytics, man. You need degrees to use it and really understand it. GA4 is no better and is probably worse, in my view. I use the Google Site Kit plugin, and that's enough to give me the data I need for now.

GA4 has broken ALL of my statistics collection for ALL of my websites. The transition is cryptic and it's basically impossible for me to migrate to GA4. Your instructions seem easy enough but even if I do it, I still can't collect any visitor information. Google has basically turned its back on us all. Even if some actually succeed in "migrating" to GA4, it'll be the end of the road for me. I'll use other analytics solutions.

Hi Claude! That sounds not good. Did you see any live traffic on GA4 when migrating? If so, then all should be fine now... If not, try adding a new datastream to your website (the code itself) so it start collecting. Also don't forget to empty caches or check your cookie control bots, they might block scripts...

Google mentions that UA data will be removed 6 months after the July 1st deadline, so it is a good idea to backup your historical data.

But you can export all old data to: There are currently several ways to export data from your Universal Analytics property. Export individual reports into the following formats: CSV TSV TSV for Excel Excel (XLSX) Google Sheets PDF

Hi Julia, that’s also possible but it’s harder to do. Easiest way is to create a thank you page. But if you insist it’s still possible. What contact form are you using?

Hi there! Well if you want to track multiple channels that are not your own - social media etc - you would need another tool then Google Analytics. There are companies that actually sell exactly this service in a dashboard, BUt I have never seen it all in Google Analytics combined.

I know you own your channels, but integration WITHIN analytics dashboard I have not seen yet. The only thing you can see is if your visitors come via a social media channel. But you can’t see how your visitors move over your social channels inside of Analytics

Hi Angela! Thanks for the sub and like, really appreciate it! Well I talked about these that they are only necessary if you advertise yourself OR if you show ads on your website. If that’s not the case, mark them all as completed. If you do advertise, then there are more things to setup, but I said in the video that that’s another story. I will cover it when there are enough people reaching out and want to see how that works 😀👍🏻

Hi, thanks for the vid. I setup as you did but the data on my UA old Google Analytics has vanished. I did switch to the UA account from the dropdown, like you did in the video. There is a Google help page where others had the same issue.

Hey Tessa! Wat je in dit geval kunt proberen is de tracking code opnieuw op je website te plaatsen. Wellicht was je UA code niet geschikt om te hergebruiken voor GA4. Je kunt de code vinden bij de datastream.

Hi there, thats a odd problem! Try replacing your tracking code (datastream) with a new fresh GA4 datastream. Test that out just to be sure...

Hi Kevin! Totally depends on how many goals you have. If it’s more than 5, migrate them. But sometimes it’s just best practice to create new ones as you can also then think about the real goals of your site 💭 😀

Hi Ákos! Well if you have did nothing note worthy on your Universal account like tracking conversions or adding goals, you just might want to ignore it. Then it will all go with you and no harm done 😊

Hi Matt, I set it up according to your tutorial, but the following message is still showing up in Google Analytics: "This property will stop processing data starting on July 1, 2023. At that time, it will only be possible to view historical data. Hi there! Thanks for your question! If your GA4 is gathering data and you have seen this like in the tutorial, you should be fine. The message is correct, the data will stop gathering. But not for the GA4 account. Do you have more property’s on your account?

Dear thank you for your video, I have a question, at 0:50 I read "enable data collection using existing analytics.js and gtag.js tag" what does this means? I have installed in past, through google tag manager, the old universal analytic tags and all the related events, does this means that I don't have to touch anything from the tag manager side? I ask this because after following the automatic migration and your suggested steps, I can clearly see live reports updating in a real way, and this happens even if I didn't changed anything from the tags side.. how is this possible? The previous UA had a different ID from the new GA4 but I can see the flow of data(???)

Hi Wassy! Well to put it simple, thats just some pure occult magic from GA... those wicked wizards in there! No that's a joke of course. They implemented some way to use your old gtag and make a connection to the new GA4. So yeah, all should be fine when migrating. However you should check if your conversions all are measured the right way. I think that is the case so you're done 😁

Hi there! Thanks for the question. It could be that you need to place a new code. You might be using a old UA code that’s not compatible with GA4. Please add a new code for the website “stream”.
