when i applied the compressor my beat got low on volume, do i need to turn the threshold to left to make it a bit more loud? i was applying the same amount as in the video. love the work tho !

do you ever use a loudness meter to make sure your db is high enough? if so what db do you try to push it to, I was having a hard time getting to -12 were I normally aim for, I was only able to do -13, maybe I should be mixing with headphones since I have big sub with my monitors? and when I originally leveled everything it wasn't clipping but after I added effects I had a hard time leveling it back out without reducing overall loudness, and even when I used the limiter it was clipping with just 1.5 db added, any suggestions?
