An endothermic reaction is where heat is absorbed from the surroundings. It will result in the solution cooling down

I am very thankful that between McBain, Don's Photo and Studio Argentique, we can get most things at a sensible price.

Why use the sous vide rig for distilled water? The microwave is much faster and perfectly sanitary. The sous vide is fantastic for holding mixed chemistry at temp for color developing.

Reasonable idea, if you do so carefully and monitor the microwave so that you do not over warm. Also, distilled water most always comes in plastic bottles. Some plastic is highly reactive to microwave energy and will melt. Test an empty bottle carefully, so you don't blow up the bottle warning its contents.

1. control of how hot I want it 2. maintaining the temp I want. 3. When you are ready to develop a roll of film, are you going to microwave for chemicals?

Looks easy enough! I grabbed the same kit from FFP a while back, but cheaped out and got the clear plastic 1L bottles. Hopefully, I don't have a problem w/ floatation when I go to use it (holding out to finish a couple of C41 roles so I can batch develop). I do wish chem had much longer shelf lives for those of us who don't shoot often enough.

How long does the blix and developer stay good for before you need to replace them? I don't plan on doing it too often so not sure if I am going to be off better waiting for my rolls to build up before mixing a batch up. thanks!

Oh, cool, one of those days in the future, I might try that too :) Does that mean that we can expect some color films on your channel soon? One more thing, I really loved your experiments you did a few years back. And I've heard that c41 dev is really sensitive on proper temperature. Will you do an experiment what happens to a film which is developed in cooler/warmer solution than what is supposed to? Thanks for the video.

Oh yeah, I had totally forgotten about the smell... One more reason not to do this indoors when it's -23° outside!
