Each time we get another "bonus" video from Knoxville, I think that this must be the end of the line. (I hope I don't jinx the series with this comment.) It would be nice if you and Jack Hewitt can get together for an extended interview. You've had a few others that have been quite enjoyable. The fellow selling the t-shirts is a very talented graphic artist. It's got to be quite a job to make arrangements with current as well as retired drivers in addition to the estates of those who have passed. It's always a little disappointing to know the racing season in the north is winding down. Of course, we'll look forward to more "lake" content during the winter.

I probably have enough content to make 3 more Knoxville videos, but no rush on that. I am definitely coming out with at least one more...and yet this week. It'll be one of those videos that very few people watch because it's about the actual town of Knoxville and Knoxville Square, but that's ok...I'm coming to the realization that the History Mystery Man thing is a hobby more than a business. I'm willing to bet that many of the people who go to the races in Knoxville have not been to the square or even know where it is...even though it's close to the track. Thanks again ole friend. HMM

A great video that brings the Knoxville fan experience to someone that's never been to the track before. Cool to see you interact with with the family of race fans at the beginning of the video and Brian at the end. My condolences to Brian on the loss of his wife last year. I know he is doing his best to move forward, but it's clear how much he misses her. The margarita mixer is cool. You can actually buy those. I remember seeing an ad either in a car/ racing magazine or maybe it was on a tool collectors forum i forget which. The rib eye must have been good. At a lot of tracks the food isn't the best I've found. The Milwaukee MIle is awesome though, the fairgrounds has many permanent restaurants that are great and not crazy expensive. The young lady that doers the chainsaw are is amazing. I've seen artists like her at work at various shows and fairs over the years and it's so cool to watch and see the final product. If you've ever used a chainsaw you know they are pretty heavy (especially if you are continually using it) and accuracy is difficult, even making a straight cut, let alone carving with the saw like she does! I love those retro t-shirts Clark makes. They look great and I love old-school drivers. I bought a J.D. McDuffie shirt in Mt. Airy last year from Linda and Jeff (they had a booth set-up). On the special occasions I wear it, it always is a conversation starter and a great tribute I find. Even to this day J.D. has lots of fans! I don't know Conner Wade as I don't subscribe to DIRTvision, but it's nice to see somebody that young have a passion for racing. I Googled him and I found out he's Chuck Amati's great-grandson. How cool is that? If my math is right he's only around 20? And who would have thought that ""Do It" Hewitt would be a speaker at a church. I would picture him more at a"church house" (slang for a strip club) lol! Hope I get to hear his Australia stories in a future video!
@HistoryMysteryMan3 ай бұрын
Wow...this has got to be the most thorough evaluation of anything I've ever done at History Mystery Man...thanks Gregg, so appreciated. You didn't miss a lick. Had no idea that Conner Wade is Chuck Amati's great-grandson; I would have discussed that with him had I known. Based on Conner's current skill level and his age, I'd say his future in this industry is long and fruitful. I'm off to my old stomping grounds this weekend at Toledo Speedway for the ARCA season finale...should be fun. Thanks again, Gregg...your feedback is amazing. HMM
@greggrauscher343 ай бұрын
Thanks HMM. I had no idea Conner was related to Chuck Amati either until I read an article online about him. I believe I read his father also owned sprint cars. I hope you had a good time at Toledo Speedway. I look forward to the content you generate from your time there. I really need to get back to that track it's been years, although on my way home from Milwaukee, I stopped in Toledo on Labor Day and I toured the Schoonmaker, the Ohio and the National Museum of the Great Lakes itself and also went to see the ARMCO (American Valor). Had a great time!

@@greggrauscher34 Look me up next time you're through this area. Love the Nat'l Museum of the Great Lakes (it's currently undergoing a major expansion)...that whole area along the Maumee River is awesome...all the new and continual development is really something. Toledo/ARCA was ok...so many great memories; but it's not what it used to be for me, but that's probably true with a lot of things. Time to move on from that part of my past. Thanks again, Gregg...HMM
@greggrauscher343 ай бұрын
@@HistoryMysteryMan thanks for the invite. I will definitely look you up next time I'm in Toledo (not sure when that will be). I arrived in Toledo late at night after arriving late from Milwaukee. Got a motel room, then the next morning I made my way to the National Museum of the Great Lakes. I must have spent 4-5 hours aboard the Schoonmaker. That was very enjoyable. There was an older gentleman in the pilothouse that worked on the tugboat Ohio back in the day. He gave a few of us a tour of pilothouse and surrounding areas of the ship and provided a great deal of insight on both the Schoonmaker and the Ohio, which I later went aboard as well. The only regret was that I wasn't able to spend enough time going through the actual museum as I would have liked. I was really impressed with the whole experience! Be sure to tour the Mather as well, next time your in Cleveland. It's in rougher condition than the Schoonmaker but a bit quieter and there is a bit better access (less areas closed off to the public). And it goes without saying if you are ever in the Niagara Falls, Buffalo or even Toronto areas let me know.
@HistoryMysteryMan3 ай бұрын
@@greggrauscher34 Thanks Gregg. I had forgotten about the Mather. I need to revisit that...maybe make a movie on the ship. The rougher condition and more access to more areas would only add to its character for me.
