Yo I downloaded this and its amazing. However I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this, but when your track gets really loud you can hear some slight noise/distortion with it. So to fix that I just replaced clipshifter with the stock ableton limiter and it seemed to work. Anyway have a great day.
@wheystedmusic2 жыл бұрын
Soft clippers cause more distortion since it’s cutting any audio off over 0db. However softclippers will make your mixes louder than a traditional limiter if your going for the “meta” of dubstep. (At the end of the day it’s all preference and WHAT YOU LIKE)

It makes me a little sad that this is so complicated still. I’ve had a rough day musically so maybe that’s just making it worse. But it’s nice to know you are here as a resource. Thanks again.

How do you get your Span all black/dark mode like that? Min is a dark grey with no "black" option

Damn thats sick. My main issue is my kick will start to distort. I usually just go up to -7.5 lufs . Idk how you do it man thats awesome.

Soft clipping and the L.E.C helps the sub of the kick not distort as quick! Try this method and see if it helps🙂

Usually when people say "gain stage" they mean preventing every element from clipping without using limiters or clippers, but here when you say it I feel like you are referring to something else. Could you elaborate a little?? Love the video regardless
@wheystedmusic6 ай бұрын
@@hRM3zMusic gain staging is in simple terms making something the correct loudness after putting it through post processing. So In my master after applying some downward compression my gain staging after would be to bring it back to the loudness I want

Is your clip shifter at stock settings for this process? Do you change anything for the master? Also, if your levels are off on the span master (sub, high end) would you fix that on the master eq or back on the original mix?
@wheystedmusic4 ай бұрын
Stock settings! Just changed input gain if I want my master louder. Also if anything is off in the final span, I change it in the mix always. I really never touch my master eq.

Good theory ❤ could you show me SPAN slope setting (3 or 4.5 dB)?

I’m not sure I understand the question fully. Could you further explain? Or tag a time in which you are referring to in the video 🙂

Can you still download the rack if you’re in ableton 10 ?
@wheystedmusic2 жыл бұрын
As long as you have all the 3rd party VST’s it should be fine! The only thing that won’t work is the Swiss army meter but you can use youlean loudness meter instead!

@@wheystedmusic Yeah I have them all , but for some reason nothing pops up and I loved to use this rack because I'm mastering a track as we speak !

What is that mono knob for?
@wheystedmusic10 ай бұрын
So I can flip my whole mix to mono while listening. If a sound disappears out of your mix in mono it’s probably too stereo and is phasing. So I always test my mixes in mono while I produce and during final mixdown
