Over the gold and the green base both look the best by far they have that bright green in it with the light and in the shaded area's they come very close to the actual British racing green, love ur work Chris u always make up some killer colours. I still have to re-attempt ur dark cherry candy pearl as I didn't have the right cup the first time I made one up so just had to change it up a little and it actually came out realy nice considering my changes in the mix

Hi Chris, sorry for the late comment I hope you see it! I never imagined that you would make a video from my question but I am so, so, sooooo glad you did. I loved hearing your methodology of the mix and why you chose those specific colours you used to make it. I’m also really pleased you did the Green undercoat as I probably wouldn’t have thought of that and it looked a-maz-ing!!!! 🤩 Glad you included the gold in the mix and it was really useful for me to see all the results together. I found your vids today to learn to spray my car and then I found my favourite colour in this video.. Personally I like charcoal and leading towards the gold base, but as I want bronze highlights for interior and rims etc. Could you base coat with a goldy bronze for the darkness of the charcoal and a little bit of warmth?

Try Wicked W362 Metallic Bronze. For best results, mix 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear with Metallic Bronze, and thin with 4011 Reducer. Apply over 6002 AutoBorne Sealer Black. Generally, all Createx paints are intermixable, so custom tints are OK. A test panel is always recommended anytime testing a new color. Thank you.

Great colors! If you just put 2 coats of the candy blue, then 2 coats of the candy yellow on top of the blue, would it be a mess or would it end up greenish?

It would be a green, but its best not to think of it so strict as 2 coats blue , 2 coats yellow. Try a few test panels with a varying number of color coats and see what's that creates. Thank you.

Really cool! Reproducing British Racing Green with candy must have been a challenge. The ones over silver and gold are a little too bright imho, if you go for the ‘OG’ look. Over green or charcoal came out beautiful. Of course slightly different than BRG but hey, it’s candy.. It’s bound to differ. Love the colors, and suddenly I want to do something like this with the classic combo with gold stripes or something..

Looks great, Chris! I'm not sure if it was my computer screen or not, but unfortunately, the outside sun shots almost all looked the same due to the angle. I kept waiting for you to oscillate back and forth a little... LOL

Ya, normally the test panels are oscillated in the sun. The best way to see these colors is to make a few test panels and compare in the sun. This green is a bit darker so the underlying base color isn't as apparent with some base such as the 6013 Silver Sealer and 6013 mixed with Wicked Phthalo Green; the base with Wicked Metallic Gold was noticeably warmer, and the base of Metallic Charcoal was a darker value compared to the other panels. No. This is candy2o 4657 Caribe Blue and 4652 Tequila Yellow mixed, with the pearl-like effect coming from the base metallic. Thank you.

So I mix small batches of your paint for airbrushing, what would be a good weight percentage to mix with your candy2o? I use 4050 an just mix in a small condiment cup.

The mix is ultimately subjective, especially when mixing small amounts for airbrush. in fact, due to varying concentrations, you may find different mix ratios working better for some colors such as more 4050 in the mix for candy2o emerald Green and Midnight Blue compared with Caribe Blue or Poison Green. Make a few test panels to dial in your mix ratio. colors may be stored indefinitely until 4011 Reducer is added to the mix.
